A new update means a new character, and this time Genshin Impact is introducing Linnea with Version Luna VI.
Now that the special program for the version is over, and we know a bit more about her, she looks like a solid Geo support. But once you look at her full kit, especially her exploration abilities, she might actually end up being one of those characters people regret skipping later.
A Good Geo Support With Real Utility
Linnea is designed as a support/sub-DPS hybrid, built around boosting Geo teams and also still contributing meaningful damage on her own. She brings quite a bit to the team:
- Geo RES reduction when her companion Lumi is active
- Increased Lunar Crystallize reaction damage
- Consistent off-field Geo damage
- A healing burst to keep the team stable
Her gameplay revolves around summoning Lumi, a Jack Frost companion that sticks around on the field and helps trigger her effects. As long as Lumi is active, enemies nearby become easier to deal with thanks to the resistance shred.
In practice, that makes her a strong enabler for Geo-focused teams, especially if you already have characters such as Zibai, Navia, or even Itto.

One of the Best Exploration Perks
This is where Linnea gets even more interesting.
Her exploration passive gives her access to Ultra Convenient Quick Arrows, and those basically make farming mats easier:
- Can gather resources with the Quick Arrows
- Hitting small animals turns the arrow into a net, letting you capture them instantly
- You can mark ores, then have Lumi strike them for quick collection
It might sound minor, but if you have spent any time farming or chasing animals around, this is the kind of quality-of-life perk that adds up fast.
She is not just a combat unit, but she makes exploration feel better.
Not Perfect, and Not for Every Team
As strong as she looks, Linnea is not universal. She is clearly designed for Geo and Lunar Crystallize teams, and outside of that, her value drops pretty quickly. If you are not running those comps, you will not get the full benefit of her kit.
She also has a couple of practical downsides:
- Needs high Energy Recharge to reliably heal every rotation
- Loses a noticeable amount of value without her signature weapon
So even if she is strong, she is also somewhat very dependent and very specific.
Is Linnea a Must Pull?
If you are playing Geo teams, yes, she is. You would most likely eventually regret not pulling for her.
She brings damage, utility, and survivability all in one kit, and that already makes her a strong pickup. Add in the exploration quality-of-life, and she starts to look even more appealing long-term.
But even beyond Geo teams, that exploration passive alone is going to make her stand out. Characters that make farming easier tend to age really well, sometimes better than pure damage units.
However, if you are not particularly farming and not playing Geo teams at all, then Linnea does lose all of her value. She would just sit around in your box, so you might as well keep your Primogems.
Linnea is not a “fits everywhere” character, but she does not really need to be. Between her support potential and her exploration perks, she is one of those characters that can become part of your daily gameplay, not just your combat teams.
