Navia Guide and Best Builds

Navia Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact

Navia is a 5-Star Claymore character, who is the first Geo Character in a long time to not rely on DEF stat nor having a Mono Geo team. She sports a different playstyle than most other Geo Characters at her time of release, as she relies on generating lots of Crystallize to deal damage. This means her team comp often wants multiple of other elements in her party, which Geo triggers with. This limits her to team without Dendro and Anemo in a lot of cases, as you do not trigger Crystallize with those elements.

Navia's setup is pretty simple. You want CRIT values and ATK % to scale her damage unlike so many other Geo Characters who scale on DEF. The artifact set fits Navia's playstyle, as you want to trigger as much Crystallize as possible to buff her Skill, thus you will most likely always have some form of Crystallize shield up.

Navia's best weapon is Verdict, which is also her signature weapon. She triggers the passive easily, as she wants to collect Crystallize shards anyways. Serpent Spine comes in as her second best option, which is from the Battle Pass. You would want to refine this weapon to R5, however that will take time, since battle passes last about 6 weeks each. Past that, there is the Event weapon that released at the same time as Navia, "Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword", and Redhorn Stonethresher. A noteworthy mention is Beacon of the Reed Sea, which would be just below Serpent's Spine, but since you could only get this the one time Dehya was on a limited Banner not a whole lot of people will have this weapon in the first place.

In terms of the need for Energy Recharge, you will want about 140% if you run with a Geo Support (110% if you use Geo Traveler). You can reduce these numbers by 10% if you A Lady's Rules for Keeping a Courteous Distance (C1). If you do not use a Geo Support, you will need closer to around 180%-190% ER. Remember, that using Favonius Weapons on any character will reduce the ER requirement by about 10% per weapon used.

For her Artifact set, Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods is generally the best, however Marechaussee Hunter comes in close second if you use Furina in your team composition. If you have not gotten any good Artifact pieces of the first set, full Golden Troupe or Archaic Petra 2-piece together with any 18% ATK 2-piece set can also work while you farm Artifacts.

Combos and How to Play Navia

A good portion of your damage comes from landing her Elemental Skill, As the Sunlit Sky's Singing Salute. The way it works is that you gain Crystal Shrapnel whenever you pick up a Crystallize Shard or on a certain interval during your Burst. You can have up to 6 Shrapnel at any time, with the first 3 increasing the amount of projectiles you fire by 2 from 5 through 11. The skill functions much like a Shotgun, where the projectiles spread a fair bit the further they go. The more projectiles hit your target, the more damage you do. The damage listed is not per projectile, however hitting all 11 projectiles on a single target does double damage from base. So at Level 10, the skill does 710% damage or 1420% if 11 projectiles hit your target. The last 3 Shrapnel will increase the damage by 15% per Shrapnel, counting as a Normal DMG bonus.

Your attacks get infused with Geo for 4s after casting your Elemental Skill, which you want to utilize if you have time in your rotation for it. However, due to Navia's attack animations with the 3rd and 4th attack, you would want to do 3 Normal Attacks and then Dash cancel your animation, to then do another 2 Normal attacks.

Use her Burst, As the Sunlit Sky's Singing Salute, whenever it is up, as it deals pretty good damage over its duration. It will also generate a Shrapnel for you whenever it hits. You can only gain 1 Shrapnel for this every 2.4s but every little bit helps. It does one larger hit up front and then bombards the area around you for 12 seconds.

Navia's main team compositions typically revolves around 1 Geo Support and then 2 characters of different elements within Pyro/Electro/Cryo/ Hydro. This is because those are the only elements you can trigger Crystallize with, which you rely on for Navia's Skill damage.

General Team Building for Navia

Main DPS Off Field DPS Flex Support Geo Support
Navia

There are quite a few characters to choose from when it comes to building a team with Navia. Most notably you want to have 2 different elements that can trigger Crystallize, although it is not a must. You then want a Geo Support to funnel particles to Navia. Do not underestimate the Geo Traveler as a support unit. While Zhongli does provide a shield, Geo Traveler provides a solid CRIT Rate buff and a lot of particles. It is also a free unit, lowering the overall cost of your team comp. There are a few examples below, however there can be many more combinations of characters that you can setup with Navia.

Example setup of a Navia Team Comp

Navia Geo Support Off Field DPS Off Field DPS
Navia Zhongli Furina Sangonomiya Kokomi

While this team only has Hydro as its second element, Furina does provide a massive damage increase to the party overall. The cost for this, is that you need a healer who can provide enough healing to utilize Furina's kit. When using Furina, you want to extend your rotation to 20s, to fit in Furina's skill properly. You want use Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers on Kokomi for this team, which means you use Kokomi before swapping into Navia. Use Kokomi's burst and a few Normal Attacks to heal the party (and trigger Furina's Fanfare) before swapping to Navia.

Budget Comp example

Main DPS Sub DPS Sub DPS Support
Navia Geo Traveler Fischl Bennett

This is a cheaper team, as it uses Geo Traveler, which is a free character, and then uses 2 characters whose constellations you can slowly buy through Paimon's shop. This makes this team very accessible given enough time. Bennett also provides a large ATK buff with his burst while Fischl is an excellent Off Field DPS. Try and fight as much within the Burst Area created by the Geo Traveler's Burst, as it gives 10% increased CRIT Rate while standing within its walls. Using the Geo Traveler can be a bit tricky with their skill placement, but as long as you try and aim it behind your enemy it should be fine.

Generally speaking, Navia is a pretty complete package when it comes to pulling for her. Her constellations are not too strong, but they do give some character power. Mainly The President's Pursuit of Victory (C2) will give some nice CRIT Rate coverage and A Lady's Rules for Keeping a Courteous Distance (C1) will reduce your Energy Recharge requirements to about 100%-120% depending on your team setup.

Constellation Name Explanation
1 A Lady's Rules for Keeping a Courteous Distance Each Shrapnel consumed by Ceremonial Crystalshot restores 3 Energy to Navia amd reduces the cooldown of As the Sunlit Sky's Singing Salute by 1s. Each cast can only trigger from 3 Shrapnel stacks (9 Energy and 3s CD reduction)
2 The President's Pursuit of Victory
  • Each Shrapnel consumed with Ceremonial Crystalshot will increase the CRIT Rate of that cast by 12% each, up to a maximum of 36%.
  • In addition, whenever Ceremonial Crystalshot hits an opponent, a single AoE from her Burst will target near the target. Only one Crystalshot can be triggered per Skill cast and will trigger whether her burst is ongoing or not.
3 Businesswoman's Broad Vision
  • Increases the Level of Ceremonial Crystalshot by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
4 The Oathsworn Never Capitulate As the Sunlit Sky's Singing Salute shreds 20% Geo RES of any opponent hit for 8s.
5 Negotiator's Resolute Negotiations
  • Increases the Level of As the Sunlit Sky's Singing Salute by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
6 The Flexible Finesse of the Spina's President

If you consume more than 3 stacks of Shrapnel with Ceremonial Crystalshot, then each shrapnel beyond 3 will increase the CRIT DMG of that Skill cast by 45%.

Any Shrapnel consumed beyond the first 3 will be regained aswell.
