Who Should Players Pull for in Genshin Impat 6.3 Phase 2? Zibai vs Neuvillette

With Genshin Impact 6.3’s Phase 2 releasing today, a lot of players are stuck on the same old question. Who should you pull for? With the second half of version 6.3 and the Lantern Rite, should players pull for the new Geo DPS Zibai, or Neuvillette and his brand new skin?

How Worthwhile is Neuvillette?

Neuvillette remains one of the safest pulls in Genshin Impact, providing simple rotations and being extremely comfortable to play. Nevuillette also boasts strong sustain due to the ability to self-heal which also allows him to generate fanfare stacks for Furina. What really keeps Neuvillette relevant, though, is how well he just benefits from new releases. New supports and new reactions have consistently been a buff to Neuvillette, albeit sometimes at the cost of his personal damage. But so many changes and additions always seem to benefit Neuvillette in some way.

If you already own him, i would not currently recommend investing further into him, especially if you already have his comfy C1. This is because, as mentioned, his overall damage contribution to the team has been decreasing with each new Support/Sub DPS released, making vertical investment into Neuvillette less impactful.

Should You Pull for Zibai?

Zibai is the new Geo DPS releasing this patch and has a much higher ceiling compared to Neuvillette and therefore can dish out more damage. She is currently one of the strongest damage dealers in the game when using her best team compositions. That being said, there are a few downsides that may turn you away from pulling for Zibai.

Zibai heavily wants Illuga, the new 4-Star, also releasing on her banner, and ideally C6. Anyone who has pulled for specific 4-Star constellations probably already knows the pain of how difficult it can be, you could end up getting multiple copies of Zibai before hitting C6 Illuga! On top of that, as with other Nod-Krai DPS, Zibai wants Columbina. Without Columbina, Zibai’s damage ceiling drops noticeably, and much more drastically than other DPS options like Flins or Nefer leading Zibai to currently be more tied to Columbina than other units.

That being said, Zibai does offer something those characters do not. Geo DMG! Geo DPS options have been incredibly scarce with your options being Navia and Itto… neither of which are exactly meta powerhouses. This means many accounts will be lacking strong Geo coverage which Zibai fills a real gap.

Who Should You Pull For?

So who should you actually pull? Honestly, both characters are really great picks, fitting of a Lantern Rite patch. If you have Flins and/or Nefer, and do not care about more Geo coverage i would skip Zibai for the moment. Otherwise, they are likely going to be your strongest DPS!
