What is Memory of Chaos?

In Honkai: Star Rail, Memory of Chaos is one of the game’s main endgame challenge modes. It becomes available after progressing through the Forgotten Hall and is designed to test how strong and well built a player’s teams are. The mode features multiple stages filled with increasingly difficult enemies, where players must clear battles within a limited number of turns while keeping their characters alive.

Each stage requires strategic team composition using two separate teams to defeat waves of enemies and bosses. The challenge periodically resets with new enemy line ups and special stage effects, encouraging players to adapt their strategies and improve their characters and their team setups.

What is Pure Fiction?

In Honkai: Star Rail, Pure Fiction is a combat challenge mode focused on defeating large numbers of enemies within a limited number of turns. Instead of long boss fights the mode emphasises fast paced battles where players aim to eliminate waves of weaker enemies as quickly as possible to earn points. The mode rotates its enemy line ups and special buffs periodically, encouraging players to adjust their strategies and experiment with different characters. Rewards are based on the total points earned, making Pure Fiction another important endgame activity.

Memory of Chaos:

Grand Finale – “After an ally target uses an attack, they gain 1 Punchline point(s) and adds a corresponding amount of Charge to “Memory Turbulence,” stacking up to 20 points.
At the start of every Cycle, “Memory Turbulence” deals 1 instance of True DMG to all enemies based on the amount of Charge points.

Ultimate Attack
“After allies use Ultimate to attack enemy targets, every enemy target hit additionally accumulates 5 Grit Value for allies.”

Concordant Truce
“After an enemy target is defeated by any unit, all allies gain 1 stack of Resound.

Surging Grit
“When entering Surging Grit, consume all “Resound”. Each stack of “Resound” deals 1 instance of a set amount of DMG to a random enemy target. During Surging Grit, increases enemy targets’ DMG taken by 50%, and after they are defeated by any unit, all allies additionally gain 1 stack of “Resound.” When “Resound” stacks up to 10 or higher, consumes all “Resound” stacks and deals 1 instance of a set amount of DMG to a random enemy target per stack.”

“Upon entering “Surging Grit”, immediately recover 3 Skill Point(s). During “Surging Grit”, enemy targets take 30% more DoT.”

Streets Abuzz
“During “Surging Grit”, Follow-Up ATK DMG dealt by all targets increases by 50%. After an ally target uses a Follow-Up ATK, applies 1 stack(s) of “Resound” to all allies.”

Commotion
“During Surging Grit, all allie” SPD increases by 35%. When all “Resound” is consumed in an attack, recover 1 Skill Point.”
