Recent information has surfaced about future characters in Honkai: Star Rail as well as who might be the best character to pull for in the upcomming planet in 4.X.
This information, shared through the Anon Leaks telegram channel and then to the Honkai: Star Rail Leaks subreddit show the 2 “Main Pushes” for the rumoured “Edo Star” planet releasing with version 4.0.
What is a Main Push?
A Main Push, simply speaking is the main characters that HoYoverse intends to push further through marketing, events, strength and overall meta prescence throughout the 4.X lifecycle. This can come in the form of endgame metas that more favour these characters, better or more dedicated supports, special events for that character, stronger signature lightcones and stronger base kit/eidolons.
The aim of a “main push” generally being that these characters that HoYo wants you to spend for, or are generally more valuable units. Some noteable examples from Amphoreus would be Castorice and Phainon.
Castorice, first releasing in the 3.2 Anniversary patch which featured both the top-up reset to Oneric Shards as well as a “spending event” titled Cherished Recollection which granted exclusive cosmetics and a free 5-Star character and Light Cone for spending over a certain amount. Castorice has then fairly consistently been pushed in the meta with endgame buffs favouring Castorice such as the release of Anomaly Arbitration, as well as a range of supports that have great synergy such as Hyacine, Evernight and Tribbie.
Phainon on the other hand has been a central focus throughout the entierty of Amphoreus’ story, then releasing as an incredibly powerful character with an E2 stronger than most E6’s, really cementing the “push” in main push.
Who are the Main Pushes in 4.X?
According to this leak, the main pushes would be Yae Sakura and a new variation of Himeko, currently dubbed as “Himeko SP”.
Yae Sakura being a new character in Honkai: Star Rail to release in Edo Star but would be the Yae Expy for this game, likely featuring a similar design to Yae Sakura from Honkai Impact 3rd or mabe even Yae Miko from Genshin Impact who is also considered an Expy.
Himeko is a Fire character on the Path of Erudition with a focus on dealing AoE DMG from Honkai: Star Rail. Himeko is also a variation of the character Murata Himeko from Honkai Impact 3rd featuring the resemblance of both being strong characters throughout the story. Additionally, Edo Star is a Japanese planet and Himeko is also a Japanese name, could this mean we will finally learn about Himeko’s backstory and lore?
