The highly anticipated Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 Special Program livestream “No Aha at Full Moon” marked the official unveiling of Planarcadia, the next major destination in the Astral Express’s journey and the vibrant centrepiece of the game’s new Elation story arc. During the broadcast, HoYoverse shared key details about the upcoming update, teased fresh events and gameplay systems and offered the first look at what awaits Trailblazers when the update launches on 13th February, 2026.

Continuance Trailblaze Mission
The 4.0 update continues the Trailblaze mission with “No Aha at Full Moon”.
New Areas in Planarcadia
The Special Program revealed 4 new areas coming to Planarcadia. These new areas are:
- Duomension City – The planet’s main cultural hub, overflowing with colour and energy. Neon signs, street art, and strong anime inspired influences give the city a bold, modern identity.
- Graphia Academy – A massive educational complex that hints at a story focused on research, innovation, and possibly hidden academic conspiracies tied to advanced technology.
- Dovebrook District – A calmer urban area designed around everyday life, offering a more down to earth atmosphere that contrasts with Planarcadia’s high concept sci-fi elements.
- “Worlds End” Tavern – A central meeting point for information gathering, where Trailblazers can connect with shady contacts and uncover rumours from Planarcadia’s underground scene.
Upcoming New Enemies
New enemy intel for Version 4.0, highlighting a lineup of enemies tied to Planarcadia’s creative and urban themes. The central enemy @SparxiConOfficial, appears as a major or elite enemy with a striking performer like design. Supporting enemies include a mix of rebellious, artistic, and media inspired units such as Rocking Rebel and Canvas Peacock blending combat roles with exaggerated pop culture aesthetics. Other enemies like Furbo Journalist, Autonomous Wand, Aggressive Reading Material, Security Lapdog, and Assistant Graffiti reinforce the planet’s satirical take on art, surveillance and information culture, suggesting battles that reflect Planarcadia’s chaotic and expressive identity.
Introducing New Materials
New materials introduced in Version 4.0 covers character progression and combat upgrades. It includes a new Elation Path Trace Material, The Fluffy Collector’s Edition Series, with a special system allowing limited trace materials from other Paths to be converted at a 1:1 rate during the update. A new Hunt Path Trace Material, the Lance of Retribution Series, is also added. Thunder Strum is introduced as a Lightning-Type ascension material, while the Lucid Awl Series serves as fresh enemy drop materials.

In the update we can expect to see 2 new relic sets Ever-Glorious Magical Girl and Diviner of Distant Reach.

Novaflare Character Enhancement Overview
Two characters are receiving balance upgrades under the Novaflare Enhancement system.
- Faster Skill Point generation
- Skill effects last longer
- Improved Energy recovery, allowing more frequent ultimates
- Arcana stacks can now surpass the usual maximum when activated
- Faster and more efficient Arcana stacking
- Provides a stronger damage boost to the entire team
Version 4.0 Special Events Overview
Version 4.0 brings multiple login rewards and limited-time bonuses, including free characters, cosmetics, and Pulls.
Limited Free 5-star character
- After Version 4.0 goes live and before Version 4.2 ends, players can select one out of seven limited 5-star characters simply by logging in.
- Exact details and eligibility are provided through official announcements.
Free Ruan Mei Outfit
- During Version 4.0, players can log in to unlock Ruan Mei’s new outfit, “Plumblossom Letter”, at no cost.
- The outfit is permanently claimed once obtained during the event period.
Gift of Arcadia
- Planaracdia is offering a special reward package as a celebration gift.
- Players can claim various in game items as a token of appreciation.
A Flip of Fortune (Login Event)
- Log in for five days during the event to earn 1,600 Stellar Jade.
- There is also a very small chance (0.01%) to receive an additional 100 Star Rail Special Passes.
Gift of Odyssey
- A multi day login bonus event that grants Special Passes.
Version 4.0 focuses on generous login rewards, a free limited character choice, a cosmetic giveaway, and multiple bonus events aimed at rewarding consistent play.
Trailblaze Fashion
In the 4.0 Version update we can expect to see some new fashionable additions. One of these new additions is a new outfit for the Trailblazer which is obtainable from the Gift of Stardust Store. Additionally, you can also purchase the new Sparkly Rabbit and Fire Shroom headwea from the same store.
- During the Furbobocom gameplay you can obtain the Racoon Supplicant Mask.
- By taking part in the Cosmicon, Roll On! event you can obtain the Ah! Youth!.
- By purchasing an ingame bundle you can obtain Loading.

Updated Content & Optimization
Honkai: Star Rail version 4.0 will include updated content for Currency Wars called “Currency Wars: Zero-Sum Game”. In addition to this the Divergent Universe will have an update “Divergent Universe: Protean Hero” to continue to enhance player gameplay.
