Trying to lock in your main for Mists of Pandaria Classic? You’re not alone! With the massive rebalancing across specs, you may be wondering exactly how the meta is shaping up ahead of the game’s release on July 21.
Let’s take a look at some of the outliers who have managed to find themselves into the S-Tier and those who are quickly climbing the ranks!
Best Tank Choices in Mists of Pandaria Classic
Blood keeps it’s status as one of the sturdiest tanks in Mists of Pandaria Classic and while it may not scale quite as well as other tanks later into the expansion, Blood remains a staple due to its incredible ability to self-sustain with Death Strike. Protection Paladin scales incredibly with gear and will quickly join the conversation for best tank as soon as you start to get some raid gear.

- Protection Paladin (A-Tier)

Best Healer Choices in Mists of Pandaria Classic
Even after considerable nerfs Restoration Shaman continues to shine due to its incredibly powerful raid cooldowns and its ability to put out raw HPS even at lower gear levels. Discipline Priest had also received some nerfs but even with some numbers tuning their kit is just incredibly strong, especially on any encounter where you can pair your Atonement healing with amplified damage like Elegon.
- Restoration Shaman (S-Tier)
- Discipline Priest (S-Tier)
- Mistweaver Monk (A-Tier)
Back in Patch 5.4, the removal of Eternal Flame interactions with Mastery left Holy Paladins in the gutter. But that change has been reverted in MoP Classic, and while the class didn’t make it to the Top 3, they’re not far behind!
Our Healer Tier List covers the remaining healing specializations and their positions!
Best DPS Choices in Mists of Pandaria Classic
Finally, let’s take a closer look at the DPS rankings! We have just 3 specs in S-Tier: Survival Hunter, Destruction Warlock, and Frost Mage.
Survival Hunter maintains its spot on top of the DPS charts and our tier list largely due to their ability to deal damage while staying mobile, throughout Tier 14 there are several encounters that will require a considerable amount of movement regardless of your strategy and as a Hunter you benefit tremendously from being able to remain mobile while doing your DPS rotation.
- Survival Hunter (S-Tier)
- Destruction Warlock (S-Tier)
- Frost Mage (S-Tier)
- Arms Warrior (A-Tier)
- Subtlety Rogue (A-Tier)
- Unholy Death Knight (A-Tier)
- Affliction Warlock (A-Tier)
- Elemental Shaman (A-Tier)
