ElementalElemental has a ton of utility, including the important and rare 5% Spell Haste Elemental Oath Icon Elemental Oath raid buff, and is one of the most mobile ranged damage dealers with Lightning Bolt Icon Lightning Bolt, making it a very flexible DPS who can also do a ton of area damage with Chain Lightning Icon Chain Lightning in fights with stacked enemies.

Is Elemental Shaman Viable in Mists of Pandaria Classic?

Elemental continues to be a strong caster in Mists of Pandaria with many quality of life changes, including having Lightning Bolt Icon Lightning Bolt become usable while moving baseline. They also gain a new offensive cooldown in Ascendance Icon Ascendance, defensive cooldown in Shamanistic Rage Icon Shamanistic Rage, and off-healing cooldown in Healing Tide Totem Icon Healing Tide Totem and Ancestral Guidance Icon Ancestral Guidance.

Elemental also benefits from sharing most of its gear with Restoration, allowing for smooth off-spec healing.
