Neverness to Everness Esper Zero jail

In Neverness to Everness, causing chaos in the city is not just ignored. If you crash into civilians, steal vehicles, or attack the wrong targets, your wanted level rises until the police step in. Get caught, and you are sent straight to prison, but unlike most games, this is not just a quick stop. Instead, you have an entire system built around either serving your sentence, paying a fine, or trying to escape.

And the escaping part is, of course, the most interesting bit.

NTE’s Prison System Is Basically a Mini-Game

Instead of simply respawning after paying a fine, Neverness to Everness lets you fully serve your sentence inside the prison. You can explore the area, interact with inmates, complete activities, and sleep to pass in-game days until your release.

There is an option to immediately pay a 30,000 Fons fine, but most people quickly realized escaping prison is far more entertaining. The game includes multiple fully designed escape routes, and some of them are surprisingly elaborate.

It is really fun to try to uncover all the routes, and you end up getting imprisoned on purpose just to find out everything you can do inside the prison.

Multiple Escape Routes

One of the most popular methods involves slowly digging through your prison cell wall using spoons stolen from the cafeteria over several in-game days. After breaking through the wall, you enter a sort of tunnel in the sewer where you have to avoid searchlights and escape into the water.

Another route requires pretending to feel sick during yard time so guards escort you to the infirmary. From there, you can steal disinfectant, use it to corrode a sewer gate in the yard, and eventually escape underground as well.

There is even a funny “fake your own death” route where you can trade with inmates to obtain a paralytic drug, secretly consume it in the infirmary without staff noticing, and later wake up aboard a prison transport boat where you jump into the water and swim away to freedom.

Other escape methods involve stealing bedsheets and keys to climb down from the watchtower, or triggering a prison blackout before sneaking through restricted areas while hiding from guards inside lockers.

There Is a Really Fast and Easy Way Out

Of course, players also discovered a much faster “method”.

Someone shared a short clip of it, showcasing how you can bypass most of the prison mechanics entirely by climbing onto a piano in the yard and carefully jumping onto the prison fence. From there, you slowly walk along the top of the fence until reaching the outer wall, then jump over and run straight to the docks to escape by boat.

The trick is very easy to fail because you need to land on the fence correctly and, on top of that, walk on it all the way to the other end, but it is still far quicker than spending multiple in-game days preparing the intended escape routes.

Either way, the prison system is a really nice “side activity”. You can also buy some items in there, including a skin for Zero, so it is even worth grinding it to some extent. If you have not tried it out yet, we recommend you start wreaking havoc in the city and get yourself a nice trip to prison!
