Activision recently dropped the Gameplay Reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on YouTube during Gamescom 2025, and the comments that talked about pre-ordering Battlefield 6 over Call of Duty instead have over twice as many likes as the actual trailer.
The top comment, which discussed how the Call of Duty trailer prompted them to pre-order Battlefield 6, has over 126,000 likes, compared to the trailer’s 44,000. Furthermore, fans have been bombarding the trailer with over 261,000 dislikes on YouTube and showing their preference for Battlefield 6 through the comment section.
Fans Prefer Battlefield 6 Over Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to release on November 14, 2025. It is the eighth installment in the Black Ops series. Regardless, the reception of the trailer isn’t what Activision expected. Call of Duty’s direct competitor in the shooting genre, Battlefield 6, is fully determined to outsell it.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta was live earlier in August. And it broke the peak concurrent player count record of Call of Duty on Steam. If the Open Beta is this successful, there are some serious expectations for the full game. Battlefield 6 releases on October 10.

The fans’ reaction to the trailer has made it clear that they prefer Battlefield 6 over the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. However, it is not possible to say for sure if the upcoming installment in the Black Ops series will fail to perform in sales.
Battlefield 6 has lots of expectations attached to it. We’ll have to wait and see if it manages to live up to the hype. But if the performance of the Open Beta is any indication, the game will likely be extremely successful.
