On Saturday, December 6th, the World of Warcraft X account sent out a tweet announcing a collaboration for Warcraft and hockey fans. Giving us very few details, World of Warcraft fans were told to tune in to watch the Edmonton Oilers host the Winnipeg Jets to see some hockey, and a little bit of Warcraft.
Those who attended the game at Rogers Place found themselves with some Warcraft-themed stuff throughout the night. Fans saw some advertising promoting both Midnight and housing, on the jumbotron. Blizzard also had a collectible program, cosplayers, and even gave away game codes.
Oilers fans also got to see a big 6-2 victory.
Bigger Event Planned for March 6th
If you missed out, Blizzard is doing a second promotional night on March 6. This night will feature a limited edition World of Warcraft x Oilers t-shirt, which you can only win if you’re there in person.
