We’re back with one final look at the 12.0 patch cycle, concluding with week 5 of the raids (4 of Mythic). We’re still focusing on Heroic at the start, since Mythic’s final few bosses have still seen relatively little traffic, so scroll down to get to the Mythic stats. We’ll be seeing a much changed situation after this week’s patch, as there’s a very big class tuning pass coming, which you can check out here.
Note: We are using normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it’s AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.
Heroic
Most Played Specs
Frost remains on top, but its lead is getting smaller, as Retribution picks up some 7,000 players while the Mage drops around 8,000! Demonology is also on the rise, but not enough to move it from its 4th spot. We have to go all the way down to the end of the top 10 to see the first shift in spots, where Augmentation moved past both Shadow and Marksmanship, and the Priest snuck by the Hunter as well. Not much has changed for the bottom 3 either, but Fire did pick up around 1K players, so there’s that…
Overall Damage 95th Percentile
In the inverse of the popularity charts, we see Marksmanship take down Shadow in 4th place. The only other top 10 change at its end, where Unholy grabs that final spot away from Retribution. Fire manages to sneak out of the bottom 3, but doesn’t get too far, as Fury takes its place after a steep 6-spot drop.
Overall Damage All Percentiles
Shadow manages to defend its No.3 spot here, but Marksmanship is still surging, moving past Assassination and Survival into 4th. Unholy is moving up a lot here, grabbing 3 spots in 6th. Augmentation drops a couple of spots, as it seems to be more of a top player spec, with the lower percentiles dropping despite it leading the pack in the top ones. We still have two mages in the bottom 3, so hopefully they feel better about Frost being on top.
Boss Only Damage All Percentiles
Augmentation drops here as well, while Marksmanship rises, taking Frost down a peg.
Individual Bosses
We have the usual late bosses to check out here, as the numbers are increasing even further, with only Midnight Falls still slightly light on logs.
Lightblinded Vanguard (Voidspire)

Crown of the Cosmos (Voidspire)

Belo’ren (March on Quel’Danas)

Midnight Falls (March on Quel’Danas)

Mythic
Most Played Specs
While Heroic is seeing a drop in players, Mythic is getting a lot more coming in, as they graduate to the higher difficulty! The bump is very significant, with a 20% increase almost across the board. Despite only the final top 10 spot changing specs, we see over 10K new players for each of the top 3 specs! The lower-ranked specs got more coming in as well, with even the bottom 3 getting at least a few hundred. Beast Mastery is the new top 10 resident, pushing Balance out.
Overall Damage All Percentiles
Augmentation soars in Mythic, taking its already impressive 6th spot and going three up! Frost Mage is also taking a big leap, also jumping 3 spots up, into 5th. Shadow moves one up as well, leaving Devastation two down in 7th. Destruction is sneaking up, grabbing a single-spot bump, but the more interesting story is right beneath it, where Fire drops like a stone, 13 spots and almost into the bottom 3. Balance grabs that final top 10 spot, with Retribution looking in.
Boss Only Damage All Percentiles
Augmentation makes it to the top of the pack, dethroning Assassination, as Frost also moves one up.
Individual Bosses
We’ve added Lightblinded Vanguard here, with more players reaching the penultimate Voidspire boss.
Chimaerus (Dreamrift)

Fallen-King Salhadaar (Voidspire)

Vaelgor and Ezzorak (Voidspire)

Lightblinded Vanguard (Voidspire)
