Moving Around Venom – Midnight Season 2 Delve Nemesis Preview

While the new Delve nemesis, Azta’rec, isn’t testable on the PTR, we can have an idea about the fight by looking at its datamined spells and rewards.

Azta’rec Spells

There haven’t been many spells available from Azta’rec, but some were found:

• Noxious Bile – Azta’rec spews forth a wav[sic] of poison, inflicting 185,104 Nature damage and applies $1 stack of Ula’tek’s Gift to all enemies in a cone in front of him.
  • Noxious Bile – Same spell, but also creates pools of poison. Maybe for Tier ?? only
• Sermon of Ula’Tek – Azta’rec performs a ceremony to Ula’Tek causing waves of venom to burst forth in a pattern, inflicting 154,253 Nature damage.
  • Two versions: one lasting 10 seconds, one lasting 17 seconds.
• Summon Echo of Azta’rec – Summons an Echo of Azta’rec.
• Echo of Ula’tek – Azta’rec’s ceremony echos[sic] through the room causing waves of venom to burst forth in the same pattern as the last Sermon of Ula’Tek, inflicting 154,253 Nature damage.

The datamined spells indicate the fight will likely involve planned positioning. With Noxious Bile placing pools on the ground, limiting the arena space, and Sermon covering parts of the arena in venom waves. There will likely be a certain rhythm to the fight as well, with Echo of Ula’tek repeating the previous Sermon waves. This means that you’ll have to plan where these casts are going off to so you don’t run out of space during the encounter.

Azta’rec Rewards

Defeating Azta’rec unlocks many different rewards, a title, a back transmog, and a mount.

• My Venomous Nemesis – Defeat Azta’rec in his lair before the release of the next season of delves.
  • Rewards Apophic Patagia
• Purging the Poison – Defeat Azta’rec in his lair on Tier ?? before the release of the next season of delves.
  • Rewards “Name, the Poisonous” title.
• Let Me Solo Him: Azta’rec – Defeat Azta’rec in his lair on Tier ?? without any other players in your party, before the release of the next season of delves.
  • Rewards the Apophic Soul Crusher mount.
• Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Azta’rec – Defeat Azta’rec in his lair on Tier ?? without any other players in your party, within the first week of the season.
  • Rewards “Name, Fabled Vanquisher of Azta’rec” title.
