A reported “Blizzard survey” is making the rounds online, with several proposed features sounding like they could completely change Azeroth as we know it.
There is one very important thing to remember here: this is entirely speculative. We have no confirmation that this survey is legitimate, or that any of these features are in development.
That said, there are some particularly interesting ideas listed.
Multiclassing Could Be Coming?
The biggest bombshell is Multiclassing. The survey describes it as: “The ability to choose a sub-specialization from a different class which will impact your combat rotation.“
Blizzard could be considering a system where your character could incorporate some of another class’s abilities or mechanics into their existing gameplay. Exactly how this would work is impossible to say right now, but it could potentially offer a huge amount of customization for players who enjoy experimenting with their talents and builds.
Three New Classes?
Another eye-catching entry is “Multiple New Classes.” Three new classes would obviously be a massive addition to WoW, although there’s no indication of what those classes could be, only that they would fall “within the existing roles.”
A More Dynamic Azeroth
The survey suggests a world that could naturally change over time, such as NPCs getting out of the rain and Murlocs taking over Westfall!
There’s also Narrative World Impact, which suggests that decisions made by the community could affect the world. Combined, those two ideas could make Azeroth feel considerably more alive.
Some Other Interesting Ideas
The survey contains plenty of other potential features, including:
- New Housing Neighborhoods
- Re-imagined Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor
- Non-linear storytelling
- Competition, where player decisions could put them at odds with NPCs or other players through political, economic or physical interactions
- Additional roleplaying tools involving jobs, events and politics in major cities
- Small-scale player interactions
- Watch Parties allowing players to watch guild fights or arena battles together
- Leaderboards
- Re-imagined professions
- Console and handheld availability
- A re-imagined free trial with more content available without a subscription
- A completely overhauled new player experience
The timing of this survey is certainly interesting with BlizzCon 2026 approaching. Blizzard has already confirmed that WoW fans have plenty to be excited about! However, nothing in this survey, including the survey itself, has been confirmed by Blizzard.
But it’s fun to speculate on some potentially very ambitious ideas for the future of Azeroth!
