The eighth week of Mythic+ this season is over, and Nightstalker314 takes a look at the weekly data from Raider.IO. After the major drop-off in week 7, the week-to-week decline was smaller in week 8.
Globally, completed keys dropped by only 7.88%. This time, Western servers saw a smaller decline than Eastern ones, an uncommon trend.
In preparation for the first phase of the Turbo Boost, activity shifted toward higher keys again. Timing all dungeons at +12 is required to unlock the second crafting upgrade. This will also matter for Myth track vendor items from the M+ loot pool. Success rate gaps across the dungeon pool are solidifying, with no further tuning expected.
Weekly Total Run Performance Compared To Other Seasons
For the first time this season, the weekly drop-off on Chinese servers was larger than in the other four regions combined. A 9.37% decrease pulled the global value down to 7.88%, while activity in the other four regular regions dropped by only 6.43%.
Since the season’s start, S3 has developed quite smoothly. A sharp drop after a dungeon week happened as expected. But with the start of Legion Remix and the staggered Turbo Boost rollout, early week 9 numbers have already fallen sharply.
For now, we’re skeptical about a major rebound in week 11. Legion Remix seems a lot more popular than Pandaria.

In week 8, China’s overall participation decreased slightly. This may be tied to a focused push towards +12 and higher in other regions. On Chinese servers, that shift happened earlier. China hasn’t yet crossed 50% of the global metrics, but early week 9 numbers show stronger M+ interest among Chinse players.

Total Runs Across All Dungeons
The split had narrowed a bit in week 8. Despite the lack of tuning, Ara-Kara climbed in the metrics. The order also stayed untouched for the first time in many weeks. With the upcoming loot vendor release, interest in targeting specific trinkets has dropped.
The overall success rate once again increased by 0.67 percentage points, up to 85.78%. Devour and Voidbound proved to be the easiest affixes. The switch from Tyrannical to Fortified for keys 7-9 only reduces success rates for the usual suspect, Priory.
Gambit (90.77%) overtook Eco-Dome (90.59%) for the first time this season. Streets of Wonder followed closely at 89.70%, once again benefiting from being a five-boss dungeon during a Fortified first week. Halls (87.03%) also performed well in the upper half.

The Lower Half
The order of success remained unchanged from week 7, and the impact of affix swaps was minor.
Dawnbreaker (84.03%) leads the pack ahead of Priory (82.71%). Floodgate (81.73%) stayed above 80%, while Ara-Kara (77.60%) continues to fall behind by a wide margin.
Split Across All Key Levels
78.57% of all runs were completed at key level 10 and higher. The ratio remained nearly unchanged from week 7. However, shifts among higher keys led to some changes. 30.98% of all keys were done on key level 10 alone, a decrease of almost 1 percentage point. Meanwhile, both the relative share and absolute count for level 12 increased. A clear indicator of Turbo Boost preparation.
Progress at the highest key levels continued to slow, however. Many players saw little reason to push higher keys with major gear updates just around the corner.

Success rates for most key levels changed very little week to week.
The impact of the affixes changes was minor across all dungeons and key levels. The outliers were key levels 10-12, which increased by 1.34-1.6%.
The steady rise in item levels is likely the main reason for these weekly changes. S3 still leads previous seasons in terms of top key level. The first timed +22s appeared this weekend, and with uncapped crests, the ceiling will rise further.
Conclusion and Week 9 Forecast
This week feels a bit like the calm before the storm. The start of Legion Remix has clearly outperformed interest in the first step of Turbo Boost for week 9 so far. However, Remix data from Raider.IO is based on manual uploads. We’ll cover this information with that in mind.
As of this writing, 120 hours after the US reset, hourly numbers are clearly affected by Legion Remix. In the US, activity dropped by a staggering 53.6%. In the EU and CN servers, the drop-offs are “only” 48.5% and 37.3%. Those values may change before next reset. Before uncapped crests and the vendor rele item vendor release, activity may rebound slightly in week 10. But that is a topic for future recaps.
