The Lorewalking story in Patch 11.1.7 centered around Xal’atath has officially settled a long-running community theory: Xal’atath is NOT a fifth secret Old God.
The storyline describes her as a pure void entity, an emissary of the Void Lords rather than one of the Old Gods corrupted by the Void of Azeroth.
In one of the 11.1.7 in-game cutscenes, we see the four Old Gods imprisoning Xal’atath who uses a very basic voidwrath model.

Who is Xal’atath Then?
Some speculate Xal’atath could be the potential world soul of K’aresh, corrupted by Dimensius and the Void.
