Some WoW players in the UK will now have to verify their age or face restrictions to their Battle.net account.
In a support article, Blizzard states this is to comply with the UK Online Safety Act. Unverified accounts will have limitations when it comes to features such as voice chat, text chat, and any other social interaction with people other than friends.
Not all UK accounts will have to go through the verification process. Check if your account is affected by logging into Battle.net and heading to Account Settings. If you see the Age Verification banner, you’ll be able to use either government-issued ID check, credit card check, or mobile provider verification to prove your age.
