This WoW Housing Bug Wiped Your Floor Designs — Blizzard Just Fixed It

WoW Housing Floors

If you’ve visited your house since Patch 12.0.5, you might have noticed your floors were set back to the default setting.

There was a bug impacting player housing, ruining designs and aesthetics.

On May 1st, Blizzard fixed it.

Midnight’s premier feature caused players’ floors to revert to either Folk Hardwood or Rugged Hardwood appearances whenever the player logged out and back in, or left and came back to their house.

Players discovered the bug after housing was briefly disabled following the launch of Patch 12.0.5.

This bug joined a long list of others that came with the release of Patch 12.0.5. Voidcores were bugged and allowed players to roll duplicates, several classes had significant bugs, and new features like decor duels had a couple as well.

Blizzard later apologized for the quality of release.

Floor Bug Added to Longer List of Housing Bugs

Housing had several bugs even before Patch 12.0.5. A similar bug featuring walls had been around since beta, and other bugs include outside lighting decor only usable inside and front doors sometimes not working. Some of those bugs continue to persist as the expansion carries on.

The discovery of the bug sparked strong reactions from the housing community. Players were annoyed yet another bug has impacted housing, with posts on forums and social media highlighting their concerns. Adding another layer of concern, housing is the big feature in Midnight, so having bugs that break the feature is a major concern for players. For a few players, they stopped interacting with housing until a fix happened.

Thankfully, we got a speedy solution. Player housing has brought us so many cool designs like these, and we hope to see the community continue to show off their creativity.
