Another week with the raiding playerbase going down, as expected for the penultimate week of the season. We see quite a bit of commotion both in the spec popularity and actual damage charts, as the top specs get shuffled around. Windwalkers get a lot of play and some very high performance, possibly due to them being expected to be very good in Season 2. The other big winners are Frost Mage, Augmentation, and Havoc.
Note: We are using normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it’s AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.
Mythic
Most Played Specs (DR,VS, MQD)
We can very much tell we’re almost at the end of the season, as the Mythic playerbase has collapsed even further. We’re seeing a massive drop, with the top specs losing between 6,00 and 10,000 logs each, and the lower specs certainly aren’t picking up the slack. Pretty much each spec has dropped around 30-40%.
In terms of individual placement, we do get a new No.1, as Frost Mages manage to hold on to more players than Unholy DKs! Retribution also drops off much more than the rest, falling two spots into 6th, as Demo and Devourer pass it by. Elemental beats out Augmentation, and Fury moves past Balance, as the less played specs move on up in the world (slightly).
Sporefall
While Sporefall lost fewer total players, but that’s just because it had less to start with. We still see the same 30-50% fall, as even the very top specs drop below 10k logs. Frost Mage is on the rise here as well, taking out Beast Mastery for 4th, while Demo drops two spots to Devourer and Fury.
Overall Damage 95th Percentile
We see a big shift at the top, as Windwalker surges up into 2nd place, gaining a huge 6 spots! This may be related to the solid performance the spec is expected to have in 12.1 (at least in dungeons), with players warming up and trying the spec out once again. Marksmanship drops three spots, letting the Monk as well as Balance and Devourer through. Devastation is also down, falling five spots to 14th.
Overall Damage All Percentiles
Augmentation finally finds its way to the top spot, gaining a big 6 spots and making things even with the top percentiles. Survival holds on to 2nd, as to the Frosts and Marksmanship, while Devourer moves past Subtlety.
Sporefall
Fury has moved to the top here, besting Survival and rising three spots, and we see the same Windwalker surge as we did above, with the Monk grabbing four spots. Destruction drops three into 4th, joining Affliction, which gains one, as the Warlocks congregate. The same is true for the Demon Hunters, with Devourer dropping two and Havoc rising a very big six spots to meet its fellow purple spec.
Individual Bosses
Lightblinded Vanguard (Voidspire)

Crown of the Cosmos (Voidspire)

Belo’ren (March on Quel’Danas)

Midnight Falls (March on Quel’Danas)

Heroic
Most Played Specs (DR,VS, MQD)
Heroic is now on pretty much the same level as Mythic, only a thousand off for the top specs. Unlike Mythic, however, the top specs remain very stable, with the exception of Shadow, which drops two spots into 9th.
