The seventeenth week of Mythic+ in this season is over, and Nightstalker314 takes a look at the weekly data provided by Raider.IO. With the final patch of TWW, Housing has made it to the live servers for those who pre-ordered Midnight. And of course, the focus shifted away from everything else. Worldwide, the participation in Retail M+ dropped by 26.32%. For Remix, it was once again a larger drop-off of 33.30%. Earlier in the week, participation was even lower before rebounding toward the end. But let’s look at the details.
Weekly Total Run Performance Compared To Other Seasons
The global drop-off of 26.32% is spread almost equally, with 25.70% for the four regular regions and 27.00% on the Chinese servers. Compared to all previous seasons, TWW S3 hit a new low, with roughly 10% of the activity seen in the first week. But by now, most players have maxed out their gear and unlocked rewards like the KSM mount. So what is more enticing? Doing some more M+ runs or checking out the Housing system and grinding some decor?

The global share of Chinese metrics was 47.40%, a slight decrease from last week. While players there also have the option of playing on the Titan Reforged servers, many of them indulged in the Housing grind.

Remix saw yet another cut, once again loosing roughly one-third of its numbers. However, following the final minor update for Remix in week 18, or week 10 of its cycle, activity for the current week has increased again. Next weekend’s article will cover this development.

Total Runs Across All S3 Dungeons
The split across all dungeons widened again. Ara-Kara fell far behind once again. The order of dungeons barely changed, except for a swap of ranks 6 and 7. Overall, the success rate dropped by 1.51 percentage points to 87.21%. The biggest impact clearly stems from the Ascendant affix, which will receive a major nerf in Midnight Season 1.

Gambit (92.07%) kept its number one spot ahead of Eco-Dome (91.69%). Streets (90.30%) saw the smallest decrease, despite being a 5-boss dungeon. Ascendant breaking this pattern highlights just how overdue the nerf is. Halls (88.13%) was once again in fourth place. The lower half was led by Dawnbreaker (85.38%), ahead of Priory (84.07%), which was once again a bad combination with Ascendant. Floodgate (83.11%) managed to stay afloat compared to Ara-Kara (79.52%), which remained dead last with the largest affix impact.
Split Across All S3 Key Levels
79.54% of all keys were finished at key level 10 and higher. The major contributors, levels 10 and 12, barely changed their split compared to last week. The focus shifted more toward lower key levels in terms of relative share. Only key level 22 saw an increase in total run numbers, while the global share increased across the top three key levels.

The decrease in success rate took place almost entirely in the lower keys. Levels 4 through 11 saw a drop-off between 4.21 and 1.43 percentage points. The fact that this affix has stood out in every single season is quite telling. Only the Oblivion affix was worse in S1 and was replaced in S2. Why the developers have held onto Ascendant in its current iteration for so long remains a bit of a mystery.
Legion Remix Dungeon Split
The split across all dungeons barely changed, while their order shifted a bit from the previous week. The bottom five have long been plagued by excessive running, dead-end boss layouts, and overly long RP. And this week, the success rate for Court of Stars was particularly low. Depleting 6.18% of all keys is significant. But the affix combination of Sanguine and Grievous was also punishing.

Legion Remix Key Level Split
Players surpassed the key-level cap last week despite the punishing affixes. 189 became the new ceiling, which was instantly shattered in week 10, given the 39 extra item levels. It may be possible to see a legitimate key-level 200 completion with a perfect affix combination.

The interest across all key levels did not shift much in week 9. Key level 20 went up from 4.27% to 4.71%. Level 30 dropped from 10.81% to 10.35%. Level 40 fell from 3.87% to 3.36%, and level 50 fell from 2.50% to 2.37%. Higher key levels from 70 to 100 still saw some growth. This may be where players can farm infinite power faster than in Mythic raids.
Conclusion and Week 18 Forecast
Housing dominated player attention that week. And we might see a slight rebound from that before the holidays. Content and rewards surrounding this feature will ramp up once Midnight starts. We still have no hints at decor rewards from M+, which could impact long-term participation. But the most recent Beta Build also brought some changes to the vault rewards, which benefit players that go beyond just filling their +10s or +12s. Pushing to key level 18 will increase the vault item level in Midnight S1 up to Myth track 4/6.
As of this writing, 120 hours after the US reset, hourly numbers for the main regions are slightly ahead in the EU and US, and slightly behind in CN. This is also tied to a rebound compared to really low participation in the first days of week 17. For Remix, this effect is much larger, with possibly 40-50% more runs for EU and US. But that is a topic for the next breakdown.
