Players spent last weekend diving into the 11.2.7 PTR housing test, giving us a glimpse at what’s coming when the feature officially launches on 2nd December—for those who’ve pre-ordered Midnight.
The decorating system will allow players to shrink, enlarge, rotate, lift, and sink furnishings however they like. This opens the door to serious creativity, giving players near-total freedom over how they design their spaces.
Even during the short PTR test, we’ve already seen some amazing creations from the community. Here are some of our favourites:
A Skybox with a View
One player caught attention for their clever use of a skybox room—an “outdoor” room that can be placed inside your home. By shrinking far-away items and enlarging those closer to the window, Nirelock created a stunning forced-perspective illusion that makes their cozy reading nook look expansive and lifelike.
Community Creativity
Reddit has been buzzing with the community’s inventive builds:
TheGreatMalagan invested 180 points of their budget into crafting an intricate Silvermoon-inspired staircase, complete with elegant curves that perfectly capture the city’s aesthetic.
Builder, Cottage_Wizard, brought the outdoors inside with a stunning greenhouse. Using windows, climbing greenery, and carefully placed wooden beams, they created a seamless transition between home and nature. You can watch the full building process over on their YouTube channel.
Some members of the community have been flexing their creativity in the garden, turning simple patches of grass into full-blown retreats—waterfalls and rivers included! Check out AlteredRain‘s waterfall build guide on YouTube.
Housing hasn’t even hit live servers yet, and players are already turning the PTR into a showcase of imagination. If this early burst of creativity is anything to go by, Azeroth’s decorators are just getting started.
