World Bosses are changing into Lairs in Patch 12.1. With the first-ever raid Lair releasing tomorrow, we’re taking a look at Tidebound Grotto, including its location and what you can get from it!
What is the Tidebound Grotto?
Tidebound Grotto is a world boss lair releasing with Patch 12.1. Lairs are a new instance composed of a single-boss encounter, serving as a replacement for what would be the world boss this time around. Lairs can be engaged with in four difficulties: World, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic.
Lairs are flex-difficulty raids, scaling from 15-30 players in World through Normal difficulty, and 15-25 players in Mythic.
Where is the Tidebound Grotto?
The Tidebound Grotto is located in the Coiled Isle, by the Wreck of Gral’s Belly area. It is underwater at the center of the lagoon South of Tokka’s Landing.
When Will Tidebound Grotto Open?
Tidebound Grotto, with its four difficulties, will not all be available right on release for Patch 12.1, experiencing a staggered release:
- Week of August 11: World difficulty
- Week of August 18: Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulty
Players are able to head to the Tidebound Grotto location and queue for a group for the World difficulty, while taking on Normal+ difficulties will require a premade group.
Nymrissa Wavecaller Loot Table
Nymrissa Wavecaller is the boss players will face in Tidebound Grotto. In regard to loot, Nymrissa will only act like a world boss and give push loot on World difficulty. On Normal and above, she will drop pieces of loot that need to be rolled on, like a normal raid boss.
Unlike world bosses in the past, killing Nymrissa counts as a raid activity for the Great Vault.
