Diablo 4 Crossover With StarCraft: Cool Skins, But No New Content

Jaym0 Avatar by Jaym0

Blizzard just revealed a StarCraft crossover for Diablo IV, starting September 26 at 12 p.m. PDT. You can dress up your classes as Jim Raynor, Kerrigan, Tassadar, and more! But do not expect new gameplay content.

Most of the event is about cosmetics in the in-game shop, with a couple of free gifts and Twitch Drops that you can get quite easily.

Paid Cosmetics for Every Class

Each class gets its own StarCraft-inspired premium bundle:

  • Barbarian
    • The Rebel Marshal Premium Bundle contains the:
      • The Rebel Marshal Armor Set
      • A Friend In Low Places weapon cosmetic
  • Druid
    • The Heaven’s Devil Druid bundle contains the:
      • Heaven’s Devil Armor Set
      • Flesh Grenade weapon cosmetic
  • Necromancer
    • The Overqueen of the Swarm cosmetic bundle contains:
      • The Overqueen of the Swarm Armor Set
      • The Baneling Roll weapon cosmetic
  • Rogue
    • The Dark Prelate cosmetic bundle contains:
      • The Dark Prelate Armor Set
      • The Nezarim Warp Blade weapon cosmetic
      • Currents of the Void Marking
  • Sorcerer
    • The High Templar cosmetic bundle contains:
      • The High Templar Armor Set
      • Khaydarin Pylon weapon cosmetic
      • Era of the Executor Marking
  • Spiritborn
    • The Queen of Blades cosmetic bundle contains:
      • The Queen of Blades armor set
      • Chrysalis weapon cosmetic
      • Wings of the Reborn Queen Back Trophy

There is also a Zergling Rush Mount & Mini Hydralisk Companion Bundle, and that is probably the highlight for hardcore StarCraft fans!

Freebies in the Shop

The good news is that there are a few free rewards! Once per day, one will appear in the shop and you can pick it up for free:

  • September 26: Ancient of the Void emblem + Arm of the Purifier mace
  • September 27: Forward unto Dominion emblem + Heat of Char polearm
  • September 28: Teeming Brood emblem + Parasite Spitter crossbow

They will remain available throughout the collab.

Twitch Drops

From September 26 until October 10, Twitch Drops also offer StarCraft emblems for watching Diablo IV streams:

  • 2 Hours: Forward unto Dominion
  • 4 Hours: Ancient of the Void
  • 6 Hours: The Teeming Brood

The Diablo IV x StarCraft crossover is definitely looking really cool, but it is sadly not bringing new quests, modes, or gameplay, just skins, a mount, and companions.

If you love StarCraft, it is a nice bonus. But if you were hoping for more content in Sanctuary, you might find it a little underwhelming.
