Trying to complete the “Cache Claimer” step in Diablo 4‘s seasonal journey? Good news: there is a quick and easy trick to knock it out without grinding for multiple Tree of Whispers turn-ins.
Shared in a Reddit post, this workaround takes advantage of how the game tracks cache pickups. Instead of opening or earning multiple bounty caches, you can simply drop and re-pick up the same cache repeatedly to fulfill the requirement.
How Does It Work
Here is how it works:
- Choose your desired cache reward from the Tree of Whispers (e.g. Armor Cache).
- Do not open it.
- Drop it on the ground.
- Pick it back up.
- Repeat until the counter for that cache type reaches the goal.
This bug, or feature, depending on how you see it, has reportedly worked every season and helps bypass the need to complete multiple Whisper cycles just for one step.
You can use this for less desirable caches (like armor or jewelry) so you can save your future turn-ins for more useful rewards. It is also a great tip for rarer caches, such as the Great Collection ones. You do rely on luck to get the cache you want, so at least this way when you get it once, you just have to drop and pick back up to complete the journey. It saves you time and effort.
