Diablo 4 Just Got Rated for Switch 2, and the Date Lines Up With BlizzCon

Over the past several months, the internet has been buzzing with reports of a major Diablo 4 leak — a Switch 2 release may be in the works.

Diablo 4 is one of two Xbox games to leak ahead of their official announcements. What gives these reports credibility is the fact that Diablo 4 has been rated for release in Taiwan. This means that Blizzard has submitted the game to the Taiwanese rating board for a release on Nintendo Switch 2.

This process effectively revealed the existence of the Switch 2 port. Furthermore, the submitted version includes Lord of Hatred, Diablo 4’s newest expansion. Based on this information, it seems likely that the Switch 2 version will also include Vessel of Hatred, the previous expansion.

And while Blizzard has yet to confirm these reports, the information comes from insiders such as Dealabs writer billbil-kun, who has a proven track record of correctly predicting numerous industry leaks, including unannounced ports, PlayStation Plus lineups, Epic Games store freebies, and more.

On top of that, Blizzard has acknowledged Nintendo as an opportunity in the past. In a Gamertag Radio interview on April 21, 2025, Rod Fergusson, who was then general manager of the Diablo franchise, pointed to the platform’s existing Diablo library.

“I think there’s opportunity there for sure. I mean, we have Diablo 3 and Diablo 2 Resurrected already on the Switch, and with backwards compatibility it’ll be playable on Switch 2,” Fergusson said at the time.

The Date

The leak reportedly puts Diablo 4 on Nintendo Switch 2 for either September 15 or September 18, 2026, with September 15 being the more likely date. If these dates are accurate, the September 15 release would land immediately after BlizzCon 2026, which takes place on September 12–13. This makes BlizzCon an obvious candidate for the official reveal.

The Price

The game will reportedly cost $69.99 / €69.99 / £62.99. Reports also say that there will be a physical release. However, the physical box edition will reportedly contain a download code only, rather than a cartridge or Game-Key Card.

If the leak is accurate, Diablo 4 would arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 more than three years after its original 2023 launch. This would be the first release of Diablo 4 on any Nintendo platform.
