Blizzard added a genuinely useful navigation feature that will be coming with <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/lord-of-hatred-overview/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lord of Hatred</a>, and which, quite frankly, did not get enough spotlight during the developer reveal stream yesterday.



Pathfinding is going to be a new mechanic coming to Diablo 4! 



Turn it on and the game draws your route directly to your destination on the new map overlay, so you always know where you are going without having to constantly check your minimap. It is completely optional, so if you prefer navigating the old way, nothing changes for you.

It also works with the new map overlay system, which gives you a broader view of the game without the minimap getting in the way. Pathfinding basically just adds one more layer of convenience on top of that.

Diablo 4 Players No Longer Have to Stare at the Minimap to Navigate

Blizzard&#8217;s latest livestream for the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-lord-of-hatred-overview/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred expansion</a> revealed a lot of changes, including the long-awaited class changes, with full skill tree overhauls coming to every class at launch.



The focus was mostly on <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/druid/builds/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Druids</a> and <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/necromancer/builds/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Necromancers</a>, who seem to have gotten extra love, but <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/rogue/builds/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Rogue</a> still received a handful of updates, and they might be more impactful than they look at first glance.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A New Skill Tree Philosophy</h2>



With Lord of Hatred, every class in Diablo 4 is getting a redesigned skill tree built around flexibility rather than rigid paths.



Active skills now sit at the center of builds, each with three upgrade branches that unlock as you level. Players can pick one modifier per branch, with the final tier offering &#8220;Bonus Skill Variants.&#8221; Basically, those are more build-defining effects, and a lot of them used to be Legendary Aspects.

At the same time, traditional passive nodes are being moved out of the tree and redistributed into gear like Aspects and Uniques. The result is a system where your core abilities matter more, and scaling them directly becomes the main way to define a build.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rogue Changes</h2>



Rogue did not get a long list of showcased changes, but the few that were revealed point toward something important: more viable playstyles beyond the usual meta.



One of the biggest changes is to <a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><img decoding="async" data-tooltip-name="Dance of Knives" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DUI_Skills_Rogue_259.webp" alt="Dance of Knives">Dance of Knives</a>. It is now a Core Skill that drains Energy over time, and that alone changes how the skill fits into rotations.



But the real change comes from its new variant:

This basically means the skill gets the grenade tag, and that was something that was not really competitive before. It opens up new synergies with gear and modifiers linked to that category.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Shadow Builds Are Improved as Well</h2>



Blizzard also showed a couple of new Shadow-focused variants that could bring back underused skills.

<li>Sentry (<a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><img decoding="async" data-tooltip-name="Shadow Clone" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DUI_Skills_Rogue_111.webp" alt="Shadow Clone">Shadow Clone</a> variant) basically turns <a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><img decoding="async" data-tooltip-name="Shadow Clone" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DUI_Skills_Rogue_111.webp" alt="Shadow Clone">Shadow Clone</a> into a Marksman Skill and summons up to 3 stationary shadows that act like turrets and kill all surrounding enemies</li>
</ul>

The Sentry change is really nice. Instead of a temporary copy, you are now placing persistent damage sources with multiple charges and reduced cooldown, allowing up to three clones active at once.



That is a completely different playstyle that can definitely open up new builds!



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A Step Away From One-Builds?</h2>



Right now, Rogue players mostly gravitate toward a handful of dominant builds, with <a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><img decoding="async" data-tooltip-name="Death Trap" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DUI_Skills_Rogue_237.webp" alt="Death Trap">Death Trap</a> often feeling like the only efficient option unless you are willing to invest significantly more effort for less return.



These changes do not guarantee that the meta will change, but they do suggest Blizzard is trying to break that pattern. And of course, those small changes are not the only ones for Rogue! Keep in mind that those are just the short examples they showed during the stream, but every single skill will have new variants, and this means that you will be able to experiment for a while with all the new possibilities!



At the very least, Rogue might finally get more than one way to play without feeling like you are fighting the system.

Rogue Gets New Options in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred

The new Diablo 4 El’druin Mythic unique sword has finally been revealed, and it already looks like one of the biggest item teases in <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/lord-of-hatred-overview/">Lord of Hatred</a>. Between its strong effect and its ties to Tyrael, this is one Mythic players will be watching closely.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">El’druin Is More Than Just Another Mythic</h2>



From a gameplay perspective, El’druin looks like the kind of Mythic Diablo 4 has needed for a while. Based on the Reddit <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/1sttyfm/new_mythic_in_lord_of_hatred_expansion/">preview making the rounds</a>, the sword appears built around a powerful cooldown effect that immediately drew comparisons to the In-geom from Diablo 3. If El’druin works the way players hope, it could push certain mobility skills, buffs, and high-impact abilities into near-constant uptime.

Diablo 4 Just Revealed El’druin, and This Mythic Looks Huge

After years of player requests, Diablo IV is getting one of the most anticipated quality-of-life features in the ARPG genre: a built-in Loot Filter. Arriving with the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccdunTHbMuc">Lord of Hatred expansion</a>, this system lets you hide, highlight, or recolor gear drops so you can focus on what actually matters for your build.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What the Loot Filter Does (and Doesn&#8217;t) Cover</h2>



The Loot Filter applies to gear items that drop in the world, sit in your inventory or stash, or appear on vendors. It does not affect non-gear items like Temper manuals, crafting materials, gems, or currency. 



This distinction matters. With Magic and Rare items now appearing in Torment-level difficulties to serve as crafting bases, this system is specifically aimed at the gear firehose that endgame Diablo IV throws at you. 



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Building a Filter</h2>



You&#8217;ll find the Loot Filter under Options &gt; Gameplay. There&#8217;s also a toggle to add a Loot Filter shortcut directly to the Game Menu, which carries across all characters on your account. 



Creating a filter is a layered process: filters contain rules, and rules contain conditions.



You start by clicking New Filter and giving it a name. From there, you can add up to&nbsp;25 rules per filter. Each rule then needs at least one condition telling it what to look for.



You can save multiple filters, but only one can run at a time. Individual rules within a filter can also be toggled on or off without deleting them, which is handy if you want a single filter you can adjust for different farming goals rather than rebuilding from scratch.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Three Rule Types</h2>



Every rule does one of three things:



<ul>
<li>Hide Text Label/Hide All:&nbsp;Hidden items will show no text and cannot be picked up unless the condition is turned off or the Loot Filter is toggled off. Hidden item types still appear in your inventory, stash, or on vendors.</li>



<li>Recolor:&nbsp;Change a defined item’s text to make it stand out when it is dropped, in your inventory/stash, equipped, or available on a vendor.</li>



<li>Show:&nbsp;Used to override other Hide conditions within the same filter. Show is the default state, so it doesn&#8217;t need to be defined except to overrule a Hide condition.</li>
</ul>



Rules apply top-down, meaning a rule higher in the list overrides anything below it. This is the key detail for building filters that actually work as intended.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The 10 Conditions</h2>



Conditions are where the system gets truly powerful. You can filter based on:



<ul>
<li>Item Power Range. Minimum/maximum power thresholds.</li>



<li>Item Rarity Match. Common, Magic, Rare, and so on.</li>



<li>Item Properties. None or Ancestral.</li>



<li>Codex Upgrade Check. Whether a Legendary Aspect would upgrade your Codex of Power.</li>



<li>Greater Affix Check. Items with 1 to 4 Greater Affixes.</li>



<li>Item Type Match. Specify slots like Sword, Staff, Chest, Gloves, and more.</li>



<li>Has Required Affixes. Affixes the item must have.</li>



<li>Has Optional Affixes. &#8220;Nice to have&#8221; affixes.</li>



<li>Is Specific Unique. Target specific Uniques or Mythics.</li>



<li>Talisman Set Bonus. Filter for specific Set Charms from the new Talisman system.</li>
</ul>



Class-specific options like Uniques and Talisman Set Bonuses only display for the class you&#8217;re currently on, but alts from other classes can add their own targets to the same rule without disrupting it. This means one shared filter can serve many characters.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A Practical Example</h2>



The official example Blizzard provided is a good primer on how top-down ordering works. Say you want to hide all Magic-quality items except ones rolling Willpower:



<ol>
<li>Has Required Affixes &gt; Show &gt; +[X-X] Willpower&nbsp;(show all gear that has a Willpower affix)</li>



<li>Item Rarity Match &gt; Hide All &gt; Magic&nbsp;(hide all Magic-quality items, except items that fulfill a Show rule before it)</li>
</ol>



The Show rule sits above the Hide rule, so any Magic item with Willpower still drops visibly while everything else gets filtered out. Flip the order, and the Hide would catch everything first, making the Show rule meaningless.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Toggling On the Fly</h2>



If you want to peek at hidden loot without disabling your filter entirely, you can bind a hotkey under Options &gt; Controls &gt; Toggle Loot Filter. This is also the easiest way to verify a new filter is doing what you think it&#8217;s doing. To test, simply toggle off, check the ground, toggle back on.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sharing Filters</h2>



One of the most community-friendly aspects of the system is that you can export filters as a string to share with friends, or import filters built by other players. Exporting copies the string to your clipboard, and importing is as simple as creating a new filter and pasting in the code.



Expect the community to produce shared filter libraries almost immediately. Build-specific filters for popular Talisman Sets, class-specific Uniques, and general-purpose endgame filters are the obvious candidates.

Integrating one natively, with import/export support, a generous 25-rule limit per filter, and direct hooks into new item systems, addresses that gap in a way that is immediately usable at launch.



Lord of Hatred is shaping up to give players significantly more control over both what they&#8217;re building and what they&#8217;re sifting through to build it.

That might sound random, however longtime Diablo players know exactly what that could mean.

Did Diablo 4 Developers Just Tease an Underwater Cow Level?

Blizzard has just wrapped up the Diablo IV Developer Update, which gave players a huge look into the upcoming features, reworks, and new systems coming in Lord of Hatred. Among the many things announced, we just got a fresh look at the new War Plans system coming to Diablo 4, and it&#8217;s being set up as the most endgame warping feature.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">War Plans Redefine the Endgame</h2>

War Plans are completely overhauling the Diablo 4 endgame experience, providing greater depth, challenge, and, of course, rewards. After completing the Lord of Hatred Campaign, you can access the command table in Temis, allowing you to create a War Plans for what endgame activities you want to do.

This new system allows you to choose which endgame content you want to focus on, or chain different ones together, on top of giving them additional challenge modifiers. The more you level up your War Plans, the more activities you can chain together, and nodes will begin to unlock, thus granting you greater risk and rewards.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Control Your Runs</h2>

One example we have so far is the Lair Boss tree. Some of the upgrades include upgrading the loot table of Lair Bosses to grant you more Runes, or an additional Hoard Chest at the cost of raising the boss&#8217;s power. Or if you want extra Uniques, or convert most of your rewards into Gold, there are options for that too.



Alternatively, there are ways to remix your Endgame as well. Progressing into the Lair Boss tree also allows you to summon <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/grigoire-the-galvanic-saint-boss-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Grigoire</a> during Helltides or <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/uber-andariel-boss-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Andariel</a> during your Pit runs, or guarantee The Beast in Ice to fight alongside every <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/nightmare-dungeon-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nightmare Dungeon</a> boss.

There&#8217;s also plenty of minor and major modifiers you can spec into, such as Pit Butcher, which has a chance of summoning the Butcher as the Pit Guardian. Killing him will end the run early; falling to him will, however, kill your run.



So far, Blizzard is promising that there are currently over 100 different modifiers for War Plans, ensuring that you can customize your endgame&#8217;s challenge and rewards like no other.

War Plans Are Changing Diablo 4 Endgame Forever

Diablo 4 players will be able to play the Lord of Hatred a day earlier than expected, with Blizzard announcing in its final pre-launch livestream that the expansion will be available to play on April 27 at 4:00 p.m. PDT.



All prior announcements and information regarding the launch had given April 28th as the release date, and while this will still be true for players across much of the world, it was expected that it would be the 28th PDT and that the rest of the world would be waiting until the 29th.



Blizzard also confirmed that pre-download for Lord of Hatred and Patch 3.0.0 goes live on April 23 at 4:00 p.m. PDT for Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation. Players will be able to pre-download the 3.0.0 patch even if they haven’t purchased the expansion. That should make things a little easier for players looking to jump in the moment the expansion unlocks. However, with such a major launch, the possibility of server issues does loom over Diablo players worldwide.

Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Global Launch Times Revealed

The Diablo 4 Pit Overhaul is one of the more meaningful endgame changes coming with <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/lord-of-hatred-overview/">Lord of Hatred</a>, and it directly targets how the Pit actually feels to play.



If you have ever been frustrated by dead ends, slow runs, or inconsistent pacing, this update is built to fix that. Instead of dragging through awkward layouts, the new Pit aims to keep you moving, fighting, and progressing at a steady pace.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Diablo 4 Pit Overhaul Improves Flow and Structure</h2>



Every run now spans five full floors, tracked by a new &#8220;Pit Depth&#8221; system. This gives you a clear sense of how far you have pushed and how close you are to finishing.



More importantly, floor generation has been rebuilt from the ground up. You should see:

<li>Fewer dead ends</li>



<li>Less backtracking</li>



<li>More consistent forward momentum</li>
</ul>



As a result, runs feel smoother and less frustrating overall.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">More Variety, More Danger</h2>



The Pit is also pulling content from across the entire game.



Nearly every environment can now appear, including areas from expansions and past seasons. In addition, rare floors can show up that you will not find anywhere else.



Enemy variety has been expanded as well. Almost every enemy type and variant can spawn, including rare and special pool enemies. Progress now scales with danger, so tougher enemies push your completion bar faster.



That creates a simple trade-off: harder fights, quicker runs.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fairer Mechanics and Better Pacing</h2>



Blizzard is also removing some of the more frustrating mechanics.

<li>Death penalties and resurrection penalties are gone</li>



<li>Boss shadow attacks have been removed</li>



<li>Spawning has been re-tuned to feel fair but still dangerous</li>
</ul>



Shrines now use a flat spawn chance, which gives you a consistent baseline while still allowing for occasional high-value runs.



Altogether, this should make the Pit feel less punishing in the wrong ways and more rewarding for actual combat skill.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bosses, Loot, and Chaos Moments</h2>



Boss encounters are getting a shake-up as well.



Bosses now spawn directly on top of you, which keeps the pace aggressive. The system also pulls from the Tower boss roster, adding more randomness to each run.



At the same time, loot opportunities have expanded:

<li>Treasure chests appear</li>



<li>Even Treasure Goblins can invade the Pit, sometimes alone and sometimes in groups</li>
</ul>



Those moments should add bursts of chaos and reward that were previously missing.

The Diablo 4 Pit Overhaul is not just a tuning pass. It is a shift in philosophy.



Instead of slowing players down with layout issues and penalties, the Pit now rewards:

<li>Continuous forward momentum</li>
</ul>



For solo players and groups, Pit Masteries are now clearly tracked, which adds another layer of progression and challenge.

Diablo 4 Pit Overhaul Brings Faster Runs and Better Rewards

Diablo IV is getting a major new item system, and it&#8217;s one longtime fans have been asking about since launch: set bonuses are finally coming back to Sanctuary. The new Talisman system introduces a flexible, modular approach to sets that layers on top of your existing gear rather than replacing it.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How the Talisman Works</h2>



The Talisman is a socket board for two item types: Seals and Charms.



You&#8217;ll start by slotting in a Seal, which serves as the foundation of your Talisman. Seals carry their own affixes and determine how many Charm slots are available, up to a maximum of 6, depending on the Seal&#8217;s power. Stronger Seals mean more affixes and room to customize.

From there, Charms drop into the open slots. You can swap them in and out freely, making the system highly adaptable for testing different builds or adjusting on the fly. Stack multiple non-Unique Charms with the same affix, and the bonuses combine. This gives value to even the most basic Charms you encounter on your journeys. 



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Generic Charms, Set Charms, and Unique Charms</h2>



Charms come in a few flavors. Some are generic, providing straightforward stat boosts. Others are part of a Set, and this is where the big shift happens. Equipping partial or complete sets of Charms grants set bonus affixes. Relying on Charms rather than specific Gear pieces, like in previous iterations of this system, is a great change. Your chosen Set works alongside any other equipment you&#8217;ve already built around.



Sets come in two varieties: some are class-specific, tailored to particular builds and skill tags, while others are useful across all classes and builds.



Unique Charms allow you to convert a Unique item into a Charm that retains the Unique&#8217;s signature power with a different set of affixes. This opens up new avenues for using multiple Uniques together that were once slot-exclusive.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Scaling Difficulty, Scaling Specificity</h2>



The Talisman scales with difficulty in an interesting way. At pre-Torment difficulties, set bonuses are generic. They apply broadly to all classes and builds, making them accessible for players still leveling or working through the campaign. Once you push into Torment, set bonuses become much more specific to particular classes and build types. This mirrors the broader progression curve of endgame Diablo IV, where gear and systems become increasingly specialized the deeper you go.

The Talisman effectively provides players with another level of customization beyond gear, Paragon, and skills. Rather than forcing you to hunt down specific armor pieces to complete a set, your Charms do the heavy lifting. It&#8217;s a welcome design choice that preserves the game&#8217;s existing gear identity while finally scratching the set-bonus itch that veteran fans of the series have had for so long.



More details on specific Seals, Charms, and sets will surface as players dig into the expansion on release, but the framework alone suggests some deep theorycrafting ahead.

Diablo 4 Players Finally Get the Set Bonuses They’ve Begged For

<a href="https://overwatch.blizzard.com/en-us/news/24266709/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Blizzard just announced</a> a new Overwatch x Diablo 4 crossover event called Hatred&#8217;s Reckoning, running from April 28 to May 18, and, of course, it is timed perfectly with the Lord of Hatred launch.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five New Legendary Skins</h2>



Five new Legendary skins are coming, each dressing up an Overwatch hero as a Diablo class or character:

The original event challenges come back too, which gives players another shot at any infernal rewards they missed the first time. There is also a new Crab with a Knife Weapon Charm as a nod to Skovos.



Twitch Drops are active as well from April 14 to May 10. Watch one hour of any Overwatch stream with drops enabled for a Wolf Pup Weapon Charm, and two hours for a Sword Weapon Charm.
