Diablo 4 Players Already Worry About Infernal Hordes Ahead of Season 10 PTR

The Diablo 4 community is already discussing Season 10’s PTR. The content looks interesting, but players are already worried about one specific topic: Infernal CompassInfernal Compasses.

On Reddit, one player shared their experience in a SSF run, stating that access to Infernal Hordes is currently very limited in Season 9.

Previously, Belial used to drop Infernal Horde Compasses, but that was changed in Season 9. This used to allow many players to open portals to Infernal Hordes, making the event accessible to all players. With Belial drops now removed, Compass supply could become a rather frustrating bottleneck. In this reported SSF run, despite weeks of heavy play in Pits, Helltides, and doing Whispers, the player walked away with just six Compasses, estimating fewer than 20 total across the season.

If this scarcity persists until Season 10, Infernal Horde runs might become locked behind lengthy grinds. This viewpoint is splitting the community. Instead of promoting group play, users are now concerned that it would lead to party finder spam and leeching.

The players also noted that the new Chaos Armor system shows potential, but risks being too time-consuming if getting Compasses remains limited. RNG stacked, on top of the grind, end up making players feel like the rewards are less interesting.

Community suggestions include allowing Compasses to be crafted again or making sure the design team adds new drop sources, so Infernal Hordes stay accessible for all players, not just hardcore ones.

For now, Season 10 PTR looks promising. We hope Blizzard will address the Infernal Hordes Compass availability. Until then, we will keep an eye on PTR testers’ feedback.

Do not forget, PTR for Season 10 starts today until August 26, 2025.
