Everything You Need to Do Before Diablo 4’s Season 1

Lilith

Season of the Malignant is almost here and we’ve compiled a to-do list with everything you should do before it begins.

Collect All Altars of Lilith

Altars of Lilith will carry over and provide your seasonal characters with stat boosts. You can collect them in one go. Below is a map that shows you a singular route, so you can collect them all.

For detailed maps of all zones, we recommend you to check out the following Reddit post by siegemode1.

Alternatively, you can also watch a YouTube video!

Explore All Zones for Renown

Make sure to fully explore all zones in the game before Season 1 launches because you will keep Renown earned exploring the map. Fresh seasonal characters will start with 5 additional skill points and potion charges if you do so.

Complete the Main Campaign

The Skip Campaign option will be available to your seasonal character only when you complete the main campaign on any character. When creating a seasonal hero, you will see a checkbox at some point that lets you skip the campaign and complete the short Season of the Malignant questline that introduces you to the season theme.

Log In With Your Main on July 18

Patch 1.1 which prepares the game for Season 1 is going live on July 18. Once it is live, you should log in to the game with your most-progressed character (and any other characters that may have unlocked other altars or map zones), so the game properly gives your seasonal characters Altars of Lilith and Renown credit.

Hardcore characters that died cannot log in on July 18, so their progress will not carry over to seasonal Hardcore heroes. You can check out this article on how exactly progress carries over for both Hardcore and Softcore Eternal (aka non-seasonal) characters over to Seasonal.

If you’re looking for even more info on the Season of the Malignant, we recently learned that there’s a brand new pinnacle/Uber boss coming, have a Malignant Hearts guide with all their abilities, we went over everything you should do before the season arrives, found out Sacreds and Ancestrals are getting a level requirement cap, took a look at the exact details of how Renown transfers will work from Eternal to seasonal, and, of course, saw the official preview for the season as well.
