Mythics 3.0 Are Here to Stay- Blizzard Addresses Feedback

Miril Avatar by Miril

Blizzard has made a forum post addressing player feedback and outlining some of the changes and future plans.

Live Now – Hotfix 3.1.1a

Hotfix 3.1.1a has been released today, removing the “One Crafted Mythic” rule and increasing the drop rate of Mythic Items from the Corrupted Reaper.

The “One Crafted Mythic” rule meant that players had to rely almost exclusively on drops to get mythics, but its removal will make crafting Mythic Items more relevant.

Iconic Mythics have also been scarce, and the increased drop rate from the Corrupted Reaper is aiming to fix that.

Next Week – Buffs to Seasonal Caches and Kurast Undercity

Additionally, Blizzard has announced that in a patch coming next week, Superior Lair Keys will be added to the Glints of Hope repeatable cache, and the Mythic Tribute drop rates in the Undercity will be increased.

This will make farming Superior Lair Keys easier while also reverting some of the nerfs on the Kurast Undercity Mythic Tribute, which happened going into Season 14.

Next Season – Upgrading to Mythic changes

In their 3.1.1a Hotfix notes, Blizzard has also notified a change that will be coming in Season 15:

  • Removed the “one-crafted Mythic” equipment restriction on Mythic items.
    • Developer’s Note: In S15’s Horadric Cube, we’re removing Mythic reroll crafting and adding a direct upgrade to Mythic that preserves the original Unique Item. We’ll evaluate bringing back this rule for that specific crafting path only.

In Season 14, upgrading a Unique item to Mythic results in a random item of the same type (e.g., Upgrading a Unique Skyhunter can result in receiving any Bow on Mythic rarity). This change makes targeting specific Uniques much easier while also removing the major frustration of finding the Unique item you want, only to lose it when upgrading to Mythic.

Season of Death Awakening – Changes and Next Steps

We’ve heard your feedback on Season of Death Awakening, including Mythic unique drop rates, equip limits, and more.

In a patch releasing today, we’re increasing the drop rate for Mythics from the Corrupted Reaper boss fight and removing equip limits for Mythic Uniques. Additionally, in a patch coming next week, we’re adding Superior Lair Keys to the Glints of Hope repeatable cache and increasing the Mythic Tribute drop rates in the Undercity.

Seasons are where we experiment with new ideas and push Diablo IV in new directions. Not every idea lands exactly as intended, but we’ll continue listening to your feedback, addressing what’s not working, and applying those lessons to future seasonal updates.

As always, we’ll keep you updated as we have more to share about the future of Mythics!
