Ever since the start of Season 4 players have been running into one particular bottleneck more than most others. 
Scattered Prisms are still quite the rare find, and many an item has gone un-socketed because of this. However, in patch 1.4.1, arriving this week (no specific date yet), this situation will be much improved.
Blizzard have added several improvements to prim acquisition. First off there’s the generic buff to their drop rates across the board, as we’ll be seeing more of them everywhere they usually dropped. Then there’s the more specific buffs, related to Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and the Butcher!
New and Improved Sources
- The Butcher isn’t really a reliable source, but he got a 100% drop rate in the new patch.
- Treasure Goblins are much more common, especially if you can find those groups of 3 in cellars, and they got the following adjustments:
- 15% Chance in World Tiers I and II
- 25% Chance in World Tier III
- 30% Chance in World Tier IV
- World Bosses will always drop a prism, and sometimes multiples, depending on World Tier:
- World Tiers I and II: 1 Scattered Prism
- World Tier III: 2 Scattered Prisms
- World Tier IV: 3 Scattered Prisms
