Most players focused on Soulspires finally behaving properly, but Blizzard’s latest Diablo 4 patch actually included some smaller but very welcome changes for a few popular builds, especially Sorcerers.
Smoother Crackling Energy for Sorcerers
2.4.1 Build #68826 (All Platforms)—October 7, 2025
Sorcerer
- Crackling Energy no longer gets picked up from the Convulsions passive if you are full on Crackling Energy charges.
Developer’s Note: This will stop situations where high attack speed can cause you to run out of Crackling Energy.
Sorcerers running Crackling Energy builds will feel a noticeable quality-of-life improvement. Previously, if you attacked fast enough, Crackling Energy orbs could get consumed incorrectly, leading to sudden energy drops.
- New behavior – Crackling Energy no longer gets picked up from the
Convulsions passive if you are already full on charges.
- Result – This means no more wasted energy during high attack speed bursts, so much smoother rotations and more consistent uptime.
A very small change on paper, but it should make late-game Crackling energy or Ball Lightning builds feel much more stable.
Even without massive new features, these kinds of small patches tend to feel really good. Sorcerers in particular benefit from smoother gameplay like that, and that is always great news for players grinding through Infernal Hordes or bosses!
