If you’ve been anxiously waiting for new content in Final Fantasy XIV, why not try some Moogle Tomestone farming before Patch 7.2 ends? The next Moogle Treasure Trove event begins Tuesday, July 8 at 1:00 AM PDT! This event features Shadowbringers rares and brand-new Mogtome exclusives.
How Long is the Moogle Treasure Trove Event?
FFXIV’s Moogle Treasure Trove events usually end before the next major patch cycle, in this case, Patch 7.3. From Tuesday, July 8th until Patch 7.3, players can earn Irregular Tomestones of Allegory. These Irregular Tomestones (also known as Mogtomes) are exchangeable for collectable items.
Patch 7.3 is expected early August, giving you ~4 weeks to complete the event. You have until Patch 7.35 to exchange for any remaining items.

Best Mogtome Exchanges in Patch 7.2

For Patch 7.2’s Moogle Treasure Trove event, players can obtain the following notable items:
For the full exchange list, check out the official Moogle Treasure Trove event page.
Which Items are Hard to Get?

Most of the items mentioned are difficult to obtain nowadays, due to the following reasons:
- No active queues nor recruitments anymore
- Random loot drop (such as 8-player duties or Treasure Maps)
- Large time commitment (such as Airship Ventures, Hunting, or Exploratory Missions)
- Only available from this event or past events (from many years ago)
For example, the Triple Triad card Varis yae Galvus is very difficult to obtain because it is only available as a random drop from Memoria Misera (Extreme). While you can un-sync the duty and complete it solo at max level, due to its random drop table, you may only see this card once in 100 clears (more or less).
This same rule applies to the Return to Oblivion Orchestrion Roll, Ruby Gwiber Trumpet (and the Stormblood Kamuy Fifes), and the dungeon minions. If you weren’t able to pick up the item(s) when the content was current, now is the time!
Moogle Treasure Trove event rewards are primarily beneficial for achievement hunters and “Collectors” of Light. However, if you are a glamour enthusiast, you may be interested in the new Coffee Cup Earring! Not to mention, I hear treasure map farming is a good way to earn some nice Gil… There is certainly something for everyone!
Content-Locked Rewards

A lot of the Triple Triad cards are locked behind completing side-content from past expansions. Here are the most notable ones for this event:
- Unknown Card will become available once you complete the Lv. 80 main scenario quest “Beneath the Surface”
- Varis yae Galvus Card will become available once you complete the Lv. 80 quest “The Bozja Incident”
- 2B Card will become available once you complete the Lv. 80 quest “Brave New World”
Aside from the event-exclusive rewards, most of the items on this list are from Final Fantasy XIV’s past expansion Shadowbringers. So if you aren’t big on mount farming, why not consider picking up the Ruby Gwiber Trumpet to save you some time?
Best Ways to Farm Irregular Tomestones
There are four primary ways to farm Irregular Tomestones of Allegory:

- Standard Objectives: Complete regular duties, Ocean Fishing, or Gold Saucer GATEs.
- Weekly Objectives: Complete 1 random standard objective. Resets every Tuesday at 01:00 AM PDT.
- Minimog Challenges: Complete 1 of 2 random objectives*. Resets every Tuesday at 01:00 AM PDT.
- Ultimog Challenge: Complete 1 objective at any time during the event.
Remember: you can only obtain Irregular Tomestones in an unrestricted party if the “Level Sync” duty setting is turned on. You can check what duties, objectives, or challenges are available by accessing the Mogpendium in your Collection window under the Duty tab.

If you haven’t obtained the Mogpendium yet, you can speak with an Itinerant Moogle in the following cities:
- Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks at (X: 9.4, Y: 11.6)
- New Gridania at (X: 12.4, Y: 12.1)
- Ul’dah, Steps of Nald at (X: 9.6, Y: 9.1)

I Want A Lot of EXP and Mogtomes

Try doing your daily roulettes for Main Scenario (MSQ) and Frontline.
- Main Scenario Duty Roulettes give 4 or 7 Irregular Tomestones of Allegory every ~20-30 minutes.
- Frontline Duty Roulettes give an average of 4 Irregular Tomestones of Allegory every ~15-20 minutes.
- If you are queuing alone, you can set Join Party in Progress under Duty Finder Settings. On average you will get all of the Irregular Tomestones and some/all EXP (depends on duty progress).
- Need to level Fisher? Try Ocean Fishing in Limsa Lominsa. Each boat arrives bi-hourly, takes about 21 minutes total, and rewards 5-10 Irregular Tomestones of Allegory (depending on your final score). The EXP you get is relative to your level.
I Just Want Fast Mogtomes

- Do you have at least 3 other friends? Complete The Aurum Vale dungeon as Blue Mages. You don’t need many skills or BLU knowledge, and any dungeon that clears fast (within 5-10 minutes) works. These duties reward 3-5 Irregular Tomestones, but can be very time-efficient if everyone knows what to do.
- Complete your Ultimog, Weekly, and Minimog Challenges.
- Ultimog Challenge rewards more than 50 Irregular Tomestones. Clears in half the time you’d need to farm the same amount via standard duties. Only available once per event.
- Weekly Objectives rewards 20 Irregular Tomestones per week. For new players, these objectives may feature content you haven’t unlocked yet. Averages 80 Irregular Tomestones total per event.
- Minimog Challenges rewards 10 Irregular Tomestones each week. For new players, these objectives may feature content you haven’t unlocked yet. Averages 40 Irregular Tomestones total per event.
- Both Weekly Objectives and Minimog Challenges take about 5-20 minutes each per week. It depends on what the objectives are.
- PVP remains the fastest way to obtain Irregular Tomestones, as each duty averages between ~15-20 minutes.
- Rival Wings is highly recommended after your daily Frontline roulette, as matches require fewer people to queue.
- Rival Wings also has a higher chance of winning (which rewards 5 Irregular Tomestones), as matches can’t end in draws.
- You cannot obtain Irregular Tomestones from Crystalline Conflict.
- If you are queuing solo, you can also select Join Party in Progress under Duty Finder Settings.
- Also, the PVP Series will end soon! This is an amazing way to get PVP Series EXP AND Irregular Tomestones!
Are you ready to finish your collection of Gwiber Trumpets? Personally, I’m most excited for the limited-time Hatchling Earring from 2018! Not to mention the rare Varis yae Galvus Triple Triad card!
Be sure to mark your calendars, Warriors of Light!
