The latest Genshin Impact Special Program has just wrapped up, and we’ve got a full breakdown of everything coming in Version 5.7! From brand-new characters and exciting events to generous rewards and quality-of-life improvements, this update is packed with new content, new storylines, and surprises you don’t want to miss.
First, the stream kicked off with a brand-new trailer that you can watch here:
The new story will reveal new elements about Skrik, her story, her master, and a lot of secrets we’ve all been waiting for! The Traveler will also learn more about his/her own past, which their path’s crossing Skirk’s once again!
It is finally time to team together with Skirk!
In the main story, A Space and Time for You, the Traveler will find out that their sibling actually was in Natlan! It’s also the return of Dainsleif. Things are about to get complicates. The end of a journey, is also its beginning. The Travelers are in different spaces, but can still sense each other. Maybe we will finally get some answers!
New Characters for Version 5.7 & Banners
Listed below are all the new characters releasing in Version 5.7 as showcased on the livestream:
- Skirk – 5-Star Cryo Sword Character. Skirk is the only character so far that has no vision (outside the Traveler). She draws her power from the abyss, but it does seem to lean more towards Cryo DMG. She also doesn’t rely on elemental energy, and instead uses a special energy called Serpent’s Subtlety.
- Dahlia – 4-Star Hydro Sword Character. Dahlia is a Hydro Shielder and Freeze support. He consumes stacks of benison when Freeze is triggered to summon a new Shield, and he also increases ATK Speed.
Regarding the version 5.7 Banner, Phase 1 will welcome Skirk and the re-run of Shenhe, with Dahlia as a higher drop-rate on both banners.
Phase 2 banners will feature Mavuika and Emilie.

5.7 Events
- Battle of Imagined Arrays – Head back to Sumeru and choose your own path to tell your own story while playing some sort of board game! Pick your pieces, send them into the fight, upgrade them, and win the battle! This event also rewards you with a copy of Sethos!
- Fearsome Ferocious Firepower – Head to Fontaine for a new battle event!
- Reminiscent Regimen: Frenzy – Team up with other players to tackle unique challenges together!
- Traveler’s Tales: Gilded Chapter – Seek out your friends across Teyvat and listen to some cool stories, such as Thoma and Kaeya becoming drinking buddies!
New Permanent Event – New type of Abyss
The Stygian Onslaught is a new type of Abyss where you can farm Artifact more freely. Each update will feature a new challenge with new mechanics. You can then get various rewards, including Artifacts you drop. You can pick the domain of blessing you want the Artifact from, and pick how much resin you want to spend.
This also comes with a new item, Dust of Enlightenment. It’s designed to help with Artifact leveling, and lets you reroll substats.
