Battlefield 6 Season 1 Preview: New Maps, Modes, and Weapons

It’s just a week away before the official full launch of Battlefield 6. In the wake of the recent news of EA going private, the devs have just given us our first look at Battlefield 6 Season 1. The first season begins Oct. 28 on all platforms, with additional free content releasing in three phases across the season.

Battlefield 6 Season 1

With BF6 releasing on October 10th, that means Battlefield Season 1 will be dropping just 18 days after launch. Season 1 will also have three waves of major updates. The first on Oct 26, then on Nov 18th, with the final release being on Dec 9th.

The first update, Rogue OPS, will include a brand new map, Blackwell Fields, a new mode, Strikepoint, and a new vehicle, aka the Traverser Mark 2, which is likely another light armor transport vehicle. We will also be receiving the new:

  • SOR-300SC Carbine
  • GGH-22 Pistol
  • Mini Scout Sniper Rifle
  • Rail Cover & LPV0 attachments

The second update, California Resistance, will also add the new Eastwood map and a limited-time mode called Sabotage. We will also receive:

  • New Battle Pickups
  • DB-12 Shotgun
  • M357 Trait Revolver
  • Troy Angled Attachment

Finally, the third update, Winter Offensive, will give us a limited-time event map, Ice Lock Empire State, as part of the Ice Lock limited-time event. Sadly, the only new weapon we know coming in this update is the new melee weapon, the Ice Climbing Axe. However, it is important to note that every update does have a “and more” section at the bottom, so more surprise content can come with these updates.

More Gadgets

Along with the Battlefield 6 Season 1 announcement, we have also gotten a fresh look at a new gadget that will arrive on launch. Supports will be getting a Portable Mortar, capable of firing High-Explosive shells for demolition or Smoke shells to cover open sight lines.
