Battlefield 6 Steam Reviews Plummet After Season 1 Launch

It’s been almost a week since Battlefield 6 Season 1 launched alongside its new Battle Royale mode, and the early excitement is already fading. As reviews continue to roll in, players are expressing disappointment with the Battle Pass, the new map Blackwell, and to some extent, the Battle Royale mode itself. Because of this, Battlefield 6 Steam reviews have taken a sharp hit in the past few days.

Fans Call Out Broken Promises and Lackluster Rewards

Since Season 1’s release, the game’s Steam rating has fallen from around 90% positive on launch day to 72% at the time of writing, even dipping as low as 65% earlier in the week. For a brief period, it was one of the lowest-rated Battlefield titles to date. While some of the criticism is fair, especially with lingering glitches like player bodies standing upright after death, much of the backlash is aiming at the Battle Pass and map design.

The developers had previously promised to keep Battlefield 6’s cosmetics grounded and realistic, steering away from the more exaggerated approach seen in Call of Duty or even Battlefield 2042. Fans now feel that Season 1 breaks that promise. While the skins aren’t overly flashy or unrealistic, most players don’t see enough value in the Battle Pass to justify buying it. Some cosmetics have also been toned down since their initial reveal, with the System Override skin being one of the more noticeable examples.

Battlefield 6 Steam Reviews Continue to Drop

Outside of cosmetics, the Blackwell map has also divided the community. Despite marketing its self as a large battlefield, many players feel it’s too narrow for aircraft but open enough for tanks to dominate from long distances. In some cases, this imbalance has become frustrating. One player reported spawning in a jet on Blackwell only to be locked onto and hit by missiles before even leaving the runway.

Of course, these aren’t the only complaints players have shared. While some criticism is justified, a portion of the community believes the backlash has gone too far. Despite all of this, Battlefield 6 remains one of the most played games on Steam, showing that player frustration hasn’t completely overshadowed the game’s success.

So what do you think? Do these criticisms hold up, or is the community overreacting? Either way, stay tuned to our other games section for future updates and news as Season 1 continues.
