Escape from Tarkov Is Finally Coming to Steam

With the announcement that Escape from Tarkov is finally getting its 1.0 release, fans were pleased to learn that the game is also coming to Steam soon!

Escape from Tarkov on Steam

After nearly eight years, Escape from Tarkov is going to launch on Steam. Nikita Buyanov, the game director and COO of Battlestate Games, recently confirmed.

Currently, there is not much information available on the Steam page, as it is not yet up, as of the time of writing. This has sparked concerns among new and old fans regarding where they will need to purchase Tarkov again on Steam or if an account sync feature will be available.

Regardless, fans also worry about Escape from Tarkov having a rough launch, as the game has had numerous bugs over the years; however, these issues haven’t stopped hardcore players from continuing to play. However, now that they are moving to a secondary platform, new challenges arise, causing fans to worry about the game’s launch more than ever.

Tarkov Competition

However, is this good news or bad news for the FPS titan? While Escape from Tarkov remained isolated on its own launcher, there have been several competitors that have sprung up over on Steam. While many clones rise and fall, primarily two have continued to stick around. Arena Breakout: Infinite has taken the brief spotlight during the downtime between Tarkov’s annual wipes, marketing itself as a free alternative that is also launching on September 15th, before Tarkov’s official launch on November 15th.

Another competitor to Tarkov is on the horizon: Escape From Duckov. This single-player top-down looter-shooter markets itself as a more casual and cute alternative to Tarkov. However, whether it truly qualifies as a noteworthy competitor remains unknown.

But what do you think? Is Tarkov coming to Steam enough for you to pick it up for the first time, or to come back? Let us know and keep an eye on our latest news for more info.
