The Xbox Showcase just finished, and along with revealing a bunch of big upcoming titles like Gears of War: E-Day, Microsoft finally dropped some extra details about the upcoming Halo: Campaign Evolved. This extra look finally gave fans more details about those extra missions and more gameplay moments.
New & the Old
The bulk of the new details surrounding Halo: Campaign Evolved are the three brand-new missions set before the events of the original campaign. During these missions, Chief and Johnson embark on some never-before-told missions. During these missions, we surprisingly get to see the inclusion of the Brutes before their debut in Halo 2.
And across both the bonus missions and the original campaign, the sandbox expands with nine new weapons pulled from later Halo games. Some of which were already in Halo CE, such as the Energy Sword and Fuel Rod Cannon, while some are a bit more out there, such as the Brute Spiker, Battle Rifle, and more.
Mechanics and features from later Halo titles are also making their way into Campaign Evolved. Some include the ability to hijack vehicles and sprint.
The Good & the Bad

The Halo community remains mixed about the changes and additions to the remastered campaign. Each level now supports four-player gameplay, and alongside the new weapons, the changes land as either a welcome upgrade or a point of contention depending on who you ask.
But the biggest confusion revolves around the pre-order bonus and the premium armor and weapon skins. For 70$, you can get some very outlandish skins for a handful of weapons and armor. Many fans are confused about the inclusion of skins in a single-player campaign that likely the entire world has played thousands of times.
The soundtrack is also getting a remaster, along with every cutscene. So die-hard fans, of course, remain skeptical. Do you think this will be a faithful love letter to CE, or another mixed bag the community will never agree on?
