Today’s Xbox Showcase dropped a lot of news about big upcoming titles and new releases. From Gears of War: E-Day to Halo Campaign Evolved, and even Persona 4 & Metro 2039 were announced. But one trailer no one expected to hear was DOOM: The Dark Ages, announcing its new Revelations DLC.
DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations
Hell has finally frozen over. Wounded and betrayed, the Slayer is thrust into a merciless purgatory, escapeable only by confronting haunting truths and forging new strength with the help of a mysterious ally. He must ascend from the prison of his mind and fight an abomination of the gods to set his followers on the path to freedom.
DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations features new levels, demons, mysteries, and the new Chain Spear weapon, which serves as an alternative to the Shield Saw. Not only that, but Revelations is also bringing the highly anticipated Ripatorium 3.0.
All of this and more is dropping in just four weeks, on July 7th, 2026.
Scars of the Past

Many fans were quick to notice several moments in the new trailer that make callbacks to the Slayer’s past. Including the divide of Argent D’Nur over the truth of the Makyrs, and the forging of the Praetor Suit. Not only that, there were a few moments where we saw a temporary return to the older DOOM gunplay style for a moment. Perhaps linking the older games even further, or perhaps just another easter egg.
