A new Camelot build has appeared in Blizzard’s encrypted servers. This build, however, now carries a different patch number, being tagged as 1.60.1 instead of 1.60.0.
While impossible to distinguish without looking at the details of the build, this likely means Blizzard is starting a separate branch for Camelot. For retail expansions, like Midnight and The War Within, Blizzard has used the .0 patch as the content of the pre-patch, while saving the .1 for the actual content launch.
BlizzCon Demo?
As Camelot hasn’t released yet, this is likely not the case. One theory that could explain this branch would be a separate BlizzCon demo patch. This would give developers around a month to prepare it for its debut at the convention stage, which seems like an appropriate timeline.
This theory is also supported if Blizzard leaves the second development branch serving Camelot builds (WoWDev5) at 1.60.0, instead of moving it over to 1.60.1.
As mentioned previously, it is impossible to be completely sure. This could also mean nothing, and maybe 1.60.0 will never see the public eye. However, a public demo at BlizzCon, following an opening ceremony announcement, would be exciting for the future of Camelot. As community dataminer Marlamin points out, however, it could just be a client sync with more advanced and locked-down internal builds.

Camelot Phasing
Another theory is that this could mean Camelot will have staggered phased content. Similar to what happened with Season of Discovery, each phase would have its own patch, with 1.60.1 representing phase 2, whatever that might be.
Regardless of what 1.60.1 is, it is almost certain that we will learn more about at BlizzCon, which runs September 12th and September 13th at the Anaheim Convention Center, CA.
