The launch of WoW Forever was one of the franchise’s smoothest, and now we have some stats to see why! Blizzard shared the hardware the game is running on, and in this RAM-starved environment we’re living in, the numbers are eye-watering!
The official Warcraft X account mentioned 251,136 gigabytes of memory, 70,480 CPU Cores, and 3,924 Virtual Machines. WoW Forever itself is a departure from the usual Realm structure of WoW, as it does not have any. Players instead choose the Ruleset they want to play on (Normal (PvE), PvP, and Role Play PvE and PvP) and that’s it. The phasing tech takes care of the rest and separates players out. This particular feature has been causing some trouble since launch, however, players complain about sparsely populated regions and being separated from other players in their group. There have been some workarounds for this, which you can find here.
Either way, the stats are pretty huge and have been serving the playerbase well so far.
Are you enjoying the launch?
