Last week we reported that Herbalists in World of Warcraft: Forever can loot seeds while gathering, but at the time we did not know exactly how the Greenhouse mentioned in the flavor text would work (or even where to acquire it!).
We have now learned that the Blueprint drops from the Shadetooth boss in the new Excavation Site: Wetlands dungeon, and we’ve seen the Greenhouse in action!

When placed by a campsite, the Greenhouse spawns a planter box. You can then use a seed to plant an herb inside the box. After 8 minutes, the herb you planted will become interactable and you can harvest it! So far we’ve confirmed these possible herbs to grow from the seeds:
- Commonplace Herb Seeds: Peacebloom, Earthroot
- Uncommon Herb Seeds: Silverleaf, Kingsblood
- Scarce Herb Seeds: Ghost Shroom

The one problem is that the Greenhouse only lasts for 15 minutes, just like a Campfire. With a planted herb taking 8 minutes to grow, you will only ever be able to plant one seed per Greenhouse. For more rare herbs waiting 8 minutes might be worth your time, but for the common herbs like Peacebloom you’ll be better off leaving the fire and farming instead.
The good news is that the next Tier for the Herbalism Camping Feature could solve this issue. The Seed Hybridizer will allow you to combine seeds into rarer seeds, or multiply the rare seeds you already have. Since it requires Herbalism skill 300, we won’t know where it comes from or exactly how it works until WoW Forever launches on November 4th, but it seems straightforward enough.

Thank you to our very own Icy Veins writer Rainy for the screenshots of the Greenhouse in action! Keep an eye on our page for Profession Guides as we get closer to launch to stay up to date on all the changes coming to professions in WoW Forever.
