As WoW Forever’s beta starts its fourth week, Blizzard gave all players on the beta a chance to get a more in-depth test on Forever’s new Legacy System.
Upon login, you’ll be awarded the Played in the WoW: Forever Beta Legacy Challenge, automatically giving you 16 points for your Legacy Trees.
Similar to talents, you can swap points in your legacy trees for only 1 silver at your class trainers. The cost will change when the game goes live November 4th.
WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated October 8
- Legacy System
- All Beta players have been granted completion of the Legacy Challenge. This awards 16 Legacy Points to fully test out the system.
- The lowest-cost talent point re-spec for Legacy Points now costs 1s, and the cost to re-spec will reduce by one re-spec per hour.
- Developers’ notes: This is similar to how re-spec costs work for class talents and only applies during the Beta.
These new Legacy Points enables you to further explore Forever. The three different trees; Adventure, Profession, and Resourcefulness, gives you a chance to help your levelling journey whether you’re focused on professions, questing, reputations and more! You also don’t have to be dedicated to a tree, and can freely spend points between them. Each tree features nine talents for you to take advantage of!
Talents at Level 5, Discover Scarce Material with Gathering Professions, Reputation Gains and Longer Buffs Featured in Trees
Choosing the Adventure tree will give you talents like Talented, allowing you to start getting talent points as early as level 5. Level 30 characters can get up to an additional 5 points to further explore their new talent trees, capping at 26 in the beta. In addition, other talents like Well Rested will raise the rested XP cap for your character, and Thrill of the Adventure will increase your mana and health regen in the open world.
The Profession tree can give you reduced gold prices with the Bartering talent. You can also get the chance to gain additional skill points from your professions with Working Overtime, and discover scarce materials with Bountiful Harvest.
In the Resourcefulness tree, you can get increased honor points with talents like For Great Honor, reputation gains with Diplomat. Talents like Gormand extend food buffs, and Permanence extends group and campfire buffs.
What Are Legacy Talents?
Legacy Talents combine character specific challenges similar to achievements that feed into a new perk system. They’re tailored to your character interests, with the express purpose of keeping the entirety of the 1-60 leveling journey relevant. Players can earn points by levelling characters, professions, completing dungeons, ranking up in PvP, and so much more!
