With WoW Forever launching in less than a week, everyone is preparing themselves and deciding which of the nine reworked classes to main. But have you thought about which race to play yet? The Skyborne—Forever’s newest race—are an option worth considering. Here’s why.
The Skyborne
The Skyborne, also known as the Shen’dorei, are an ancient elven race descended from the Highborne. To unlock this class and gain access to their starting area, Zephras Isle, you’ll need to purchase the Skyborne Heroic Pack, or higher upgrades for WoW Forever.
These elves can be either Horde (Windshapers) or Alliance (High Order), and can play as the following classes:
Skyborne Racials
Skyborne have four racial abilities, with the last being determined by faction choice.
Walk on Air | Glide downward through the air for 10 sec while controlling your direction of travel. 1.5 min cooldown. | Active
Wind Blessed | Increases your spellcasting, melee, and ranged Haste by 3%. | Passive
Elemental Insight | Damage dealt versus Elementals increased by 5%. | Passive
Skysight | Attempt to draw power from a convergence of elements and receive its blessing, increasing your movement and mounted movement speeds by 10%. Lasts 30 sec if no elemental convergence is nearby, and 15 min if one is found. 2 min cooldown. | Active | Horde |
Read Leyline | Attempt to tap into the power of a nearby leyline, increasing your Health and Mana regeneration by 100%. Lasts 30 sec if no leyline is nearby, and 15 min if one is found. 2 min cooldown. | Active | Alliance |
Skyborne Racial Mounts
Skyborne use Galestriders to travel across Azeroth, with 4 level 40 and 4 level 60 mounts to choose from.
| Level 40 | Level 60 |
Empyrean Galestrider | Swift Empyrean Galestrider |
Stormy Galestrider | Swift Stormy Galestrider |
Umber Galestrider | Swift Umber Galestrider |

Skyborne Druid Forms
The Skyborne also have new Druid forms created specifically for the race.
Following player feedback, these Druid forms are being edited to remove softness and add more fur detail, bringing the forms in line with other racial Druid forms in the game.
SD Skyborne Models
Skybornes are getting SD models, including SD Druid models, however, these are still in development and will not arrive until early 2027.
