WoW Forever hasn’t just brought players back to Azeroth. It’s also given the streaming world plenty to watch, with World of Warcraft reaching almost 1.12 million peak viewers on Twitch during launch day.

The World of Warcraft category reached 1,119,734 peak concurrent viewers on the 4th November, making it the highest figure since WoW Classic launched in August 2019. That release still holds the record at 1,132,957 viewers, meaning Forever came very close to matching one of the biggest moments in the game’s streaming history. WoW Forever’s release also smashes through previous retail WoW expansion release numbers on Twitch, including Shadowlands (947,419) and Dragonflight (799,001).

The numbers didn’t stop there! WoW streams generated 2.72 million hours watched on launch day alone, ranking third among all Twitch categories. Across the first two days, that figure climbed to almost 14.47 million hours watched, more than any other game tracked during the same period. At the moment, this figure is sitting at a modest 31,676,569 hours for November so far (and counting!).World of Warcraft averaged 193,939 viewers during the first week of November 2026, representing a 234% increase compared to the previous month.

According to TwitchTracker, streaming activity also saw a similar jump! The average number of live streams increased by 258%, reaching 4,125, while the peak number of simultaneous streams climbed to 18,513.

Forever’s Launch Reaches Audiences Worldwide!

The launch has definitely brought viewers together from across the world. The numbers are interesting when compared to October, when World of Warcraft averaged just 58,092 viewers. The November figures represent a substantial change in the category’s popularity, suggesting that Forever has brought plenty of fresh attention to Azeroth.

These numbers are a strong reminder that WoW Forever’s launch isn’t just a nostalgic trip for long-time players, and that both new and returning audiences are watching creators explore Azeroth, race towards level 60 and experience the game’s changes for themselves!
