A First Look at the Omnium Folio, the New Power-Up in Patch 12.0.7

One of the new systems of Patch 12.0.7 is the Omnium Folio. This new system is the first mid-expansion power-up mechanic of Midnight. Learn everything we currently know about the Omnium Folio in this post!

Power-up systems like these have become a common addition for a few expansions now, and they serve as a way to soft-nerf content you may not have finished by the time of its release.

What is the Omnium Folio?

The Omnium Folio is a new system in Patch 12.0.7. It bears similarities to items like the Onyx Annulet iconOnyx Annulet and Durable Information Securing Container iconDurable Information Securing Container from past expansions. However, this time around, this mechanic does not take up a gear slot.

Instead, the Omnium Folio is a talent tree similar to the Reshii Wraps. It will take 5 weeks to fully unlock the Omnium Folio. Every week, you will have the option to earn a new talent point, with a few choices to choose from. In the first week, you will unlock your Core Rune, a new passive ability. Subsequent weeks unlock passives that further empower the effects of your Core Rune.

Once the talent row is unlocked, you are able to freely swap between options at any time. The Omnium Folio can be accessed from a button in your minimap, with a placement similar to that of the Renown details from the past few expansions.

Omnium Folio Abilities

Below, we have a list of all the talent options you can unlock via the Omnium Folio. Remember that you can only choose one talent per row.

Unlocking the Omnium Folio

You unlock access to the Omnium Folio with a quick questline in the outdoor area of Magister’s Terrace, starting with The Magister’s Call.

In this questline, we learn about the artifact’s origins. It once served as a beacon of knowledge to the Magisters working in the Terrace, but the artifact abruptly stopped working decades ago. The Sunwell’s conversion into the Darkwell reawakened the artifact, and it is our job to stop it from spreading further chaos – and learn what exactly happened for the artifact to become dormant in the first place.
