Other rewards for defeating Azta’rec on Tier ?? include:
Let Me Solo Him: Azta’rec: Defeat Azta’rec in his lair on Tier ?? difficulty without any other players in your party before the release of the next season of delves. Rewards the
Apophic Soul Crusher mount.
Purging the Poison Purgin: Defeat Azta’rec in his lair on Tier ?? before the release of the next season of delves. Rewards the Poisonous title.

Azta’rec Changes in Tier ??
Azta’rec does not receive many changes compared to Tier ?. Besides having more health and damage on his abilities, the biggest changes happen during the three
Sermon of Ula’tek intermissions that happen at 90%, 60%, and 30% health:
- Previously on Tier ?, all you had to do was worry about the memory game segment. On Tier ??, each intermission also summons an Echo of Azta’rec add.
- The add has the same abilities as Azta’rec outside his intermission phase (including the lethal frontal cone from
Noxious Bile and the interrupt requirement for
Soul Extinction). We recommend saving offensive cooldowns to ensure the add dies before Azta’rec finishes his intermission segment. - Azta’rec has a 99% damage reduction shield going during the intermission, so all DPS can be focused onto the add.
- We also recommend interrupting the Echo’s
Soul Extinction with CC abilities rather than hard interrupts, especially for specializations with longer interrupt cooldowns. This ensures you have your interrupt available for Azta’rec proper at the end of the intermission. Azta’rec is immune to CCs.
- The add has the same abilities as Azta’rec outside his intermission phase (including the lethal frontal cone from
- In addition to the Echo of Azta’rec, the memory game portion of the Sermon of Ula’tek intermission now has more portions to remember:
- 90%: 5 times
- 60%: 6 times
- 30%: 7 times
- Addons like SnakeSays are very helpful for keeping count for the memory game portion of the intermission, especially with having an extra deadly add to deal with!
