Players are loving Midnight’s new Allied Race—but it’s making them realise what they truly want to see from the game.
The Haranir are here, and they bring an impressive range of customisation options. From shoulder spines and body fur, to the smaller details like eyelashes and nose width, you’d struggle to find two Haranir exactly alike.

The community is impressed, but it has revived a years-long discussion: what about the rest of us?
A Full WoW Revamp
A Reddit post by gcac215 has been gaining traction. The post suggests that players would love to see the older models in WoW redesigned—potentially as the cornerstone of a new expansion, akin to Player Housing.
It’s no secret, WoW players thrive on nostalgia. Rather than a “WoW 2”, players would much rather see updates to what we already have.
Devourer demon hunters would like theme-fitting void eyes. Kul’Tirans would like sailor tattoos. And everyone would like more class-specific character customisations.
The requests get pretty involved, though what we simply want is for older races to feel more in line with the detail of the Haranir. Check out the Reddit post to weigh in!
But Wait, There’s More
While character customisation has opened up the conversation, it doesn’t stop there. Players want to see HD versions of old armour sets, and reworks of more old zones, and even a colour wheel for deeper customisation options.
The list of demands is long, but the news is good! We have already seen Blizzard make a start on this with Midnight’s new hub, Silvermoon City. The reception to the modern rethinking has been overwhelmingly positive, with people diving in to rediscover streets they once knew so well.
Blizzard have also been reworking older armour sets too—the most recent example being the revamped HD Mageweave sets. These iconic sets are still available on the Trading Post until the end of March, so don’t miss them!

While it may take a while, Blizzard’s recent moves suggest they are on the same wavelength. But a 21-year-old game holds a lot to update, so we’ll just have to wait and see!
