Heroic World Tier Offers Better Rewards in WoW Patch 12.0.7 — But Is the Difficulty Worth It?

Heroic World Tier—coming to Showdown zones in Patch 12.0.7—has seen some updates on the most recent PTR build.

Following yesterday’s updates, Heroic World Tier now:

  • Rewards more Field Accolade iconField Accolades
  • Rewards Champion Dawncrest iconChampion Dawncrests from World Quests
  • Rares now drop Champion Warbound gear
  • World Boss drops one Hero track item/week, and one Myth track item after four kills

Heroic World Tier, however, does not increase Voidlight Marl iconVoidlight Marl earned.

Maren Silverwing will also offer specific slot Hero track items for 750 Field Accolade iconField Accolades—a useful feature for upgrades you need to target specifically.

Heroic World Tier Difficulty

MrGM suggests that the difficulty of Heroic World Tier has stayed much the same, and still feels difficult even being in full Myth gear. This is raising questions over on X, over whether the reward is enough for the difficulty.

Warbound Hero track rewards would make Heroic World Tier a more viable option for gearing alts. However, the difficulty feels a little extreme for Champion Dawncrest iconChampion Dawncrests, as at this point in the season, most players have outgrown the use of these. If the recommended item level for Heroic World Tier is already ilvl274, perhaps Blizzard should think about pulling the rewards a little more in line.
