The wait is finally over; the J’imothy battle pet has been discovered! Turns out all you need to do is a little prancing around Silvermoon.
J’imothy Spotted on the RWF Streams
After J’imothy was confirmed not to be live in the first week of Patch 12.1, expectations for the pet were high. Players learned about J’imothy first becoming available (for real, this time) via the Race to World First streams, where a few sightings of an “Ensorcelled Cryptid” were shared.
How to Obtain the J’imothy Battle Pet
To obtain J’imothy, all you need to do is a little prancing around Silvermoon. Find the Ensorcelled Cryptid NPC hidden in the city. This NPC can be targeted, and so far, we have three known locations.

Once you find the Cryptid, click him. This will start a minigame that requires you to dodge Arcane attacks. 100 stacks in total are required (you can see how many stacks are left on his buff bar). This is doable solo, but it goes much faster in a party.
Once J’imothy is freed from his prison, click him and collect the 
Stubby Whistle! He stays around for about a minute once freed.
J’imothy is a B/B Critter Battle Pet with the following abilities:
- Bite or Tongue Lash
- Adrenaline Rush or Counterstrike
- Poison Fang or Dodge
As of this post, some J’imothy pets are classified as Companion Pets, but we should see hotfixes for that in the future.
