Jimothy the Raccoon was previously announced for release with Patch 12.1. However, we have unfortunately received confirmation that the special little critter is currently nowhere to be found in-game.
Here’s what we know about him so far!
Jimothy Confirmed to Currently Not Be Available
Blizzard has contacted the staff at the WoW Secret Finding Discord to let them know that the secret battle pet is currently not available in-game. The note below can be found as a pin in the Discord’s #Jimothy channel.

This comes after close to a week of hunting for him in-game, following a few clues that have since been discovered. It is currently unknown when Jimothy will become available, although theories suggest it will be live after this week’s weekly maintenance.
What Is Currently Known About Jimothy
Although Jimothy is not obtainable at the time of posting, the Secret Finding Discord has discovered a few leads that should help once the hunt is back on.
Jimothy (stylized as J’imothy in-game) has a visible Pet Journal entry since late last week. This clues us in that he’s hidden somewhere in Silvermoon, or Silvermoon is otherwise part of the hunt.

Next, it is known that J’imothy is learned via the
Stubby Whistle item, obtained by
Petting something, presumably J’imothy. In addition, there are two barrier spells related to J’imothy:
Barrier Integrity and
Drain Barrier. With these clues, we know J’imothy has likely gotten into trouble by eating some magical garbage and is now stuck in a barrier that we need to free him from.
It is unknown how long this secret will last. Considering how Jimothy was announced as a Battle Pet a little under a month ago, it is unlikely that this will be a grand secret like previous ones such as the Felcycle. Expect a shorter secret like Gortham or Slitherfang in recent patches.
Keep an eye on Icy Veins, as we will let you know once Jimothy is obtainable!
